WHAT IS THE WORKFRONT DEVELOPER PARTNER PROGRAM?

The Workfront Developer Partner (WDP) program is the framework for training, certifying and growing the Workfront developer community to build Workfront automations, create integrations between Workfront & 3rd party solutions and/or develop applications on top of the Workfront Automation Platform (WAP).

Extend the Value of AtTask Solutions

The WDP program provides the necessary training, tools and support for Workfront customers and business partners to rapidly develop unique integrations and

applications by leveraging the Workfront Automation Platform. The WAP extends the value of Workfront Enterprise Work Management Solution(s) by helping the Workfront developer community, partners and customers alike to drive productivity, visibility, understanding and change control via one holistic work management approach.

Whether you plan to build a Workfront consulting practice, develop integrations with 3rd party software, or develop a new solution upon the WAP, the program provides specific training, support, tools, and developer community benefits to help accomplish your development objectives. Application developer partners who see an opportunity to enhance their market share by combining or leveraging Workfront’s award winning cloud-based work management architecture, the Workfront Developer Program provides the right technology, support and services to succeed.

The Workfront Automation Platform

The Workfront Automation Platform is ideal for providing an automation and collaboration framework for how organizations should communicate and facilitate work. Traditionally, functional departments such as sales, product development, marketing, accounting, HR, support, etc. inadvertently create siloes in and between one another through misaligned process and disconnected operations instead of interoperability and system wide collaboration. The Automation Platform provides visibility and fosters intradepartmental communication, enables best practice work management & improved workflow, and empowers your workforce to achieve greater efficiencies and increased productivity.

PARTNER LEVELS AND REQUIREMENTS

The Workfront Developer Partner Program is comprised of two membership levels: a) Integration Partners, and b) Independent Software Vendors (ISV). Partners joining the Workfront Developer Partner program are required to accelerate their Workfront development proficiency by becoming certified on our Enterprise Work Management solution, its

features and functionality, and how our API’s embrace the REST web application architectural style. Partners should begin by clicking the “Become A Partner” link at the Workfront Partner Connection site: partners.Workfront.com. Once you receive your password you will have access to many resources including online product training and certification testing plus how and where to signup for our more advanced developer training. Please review carefully the partner Training and Certification section below. The WDP partner levels are:

WORKFRONT CERTIFIED INTEGRATION PARTNERS

Are those who want to automate, extend, increase, connect or integrate functionality within one or more of the Workfront solutions listed at Workfront.com and existing enterprise solutions, such as Salesforce, SAP, Oracle, etc.

INDEPENDENT SOFTWARE VENDORS (ISV)

ISV partners who currently have or plan to release one or more software products and who want to realize a greater market opportunity by integrating their solution(s) by leveraging the Workfront Automation Platform to add best practice enterprise work management functionality.

Integrator Level Requirements

Integrator Level Partners must complete all required training and meet at least one of the following profiles:

1. Integrator is currently a user of one or more Workfront solutions, has at least one full-time engineer developing automations that add functionality to Workfront or integrations that extend existing Workfront solutions with other 3rd party products. 2. Integrator is a software developer, consultant and/or systems integrator that actively provides customers with software or systems integration services and desires to add Workfront to its products or services offerings. Developer must employ two or more consultants that possess or plan to be trained with expertise in Workfront product functionality and configuration and at least one full-time engineer.

Integrators with consulting practices are required to achieve both implementation and Integration certifications. See Workfront Training and Certifications Guide.

ISV Level Requirements

To qualify for the ISV Level, an ISV partner must have at least one full-time engineer with appro- priate experience, complete all required training and be actively pursuing at least one of the following scenarios:

integrate with one or more of the Workfront solutions listed at Workfront.com or utilize some or all of the Workfront Automation Platform. ISV must provide to Workfront product descriptions, brochures, sales information and at least three customer references directly related to their solution(s).

2. ISV is developing a new solution that will integrate with one or more of the Workfront products and/or utilize the Automation Platform. ISV must provide a product

development plan to [email protected]. Product development progress reports are required quarterly then annually after the new solution is released.

Both Integrator and ISV partners are responsible for quality and interoperability testing to ensure compatibility with Workfront solutions. Partners are also required to provide current and ongoing customer support for all integrations and/or solutions.

General and Legal Requirements

Membership in the WDP program requires signing the appropriate legal and support services agreements. All members of the WDP are granted access to the Workfront Partners Connection Portal. Partner’s use of the Portal is contingent upon compliance with the terms of use and the privacy policy posted on the Portal.

Partner training and support options are available and are either required or highly recommended for all program levels. Signing up for additional training, certifications and technical support services may significantly reduce the time required to complete development projects and provide essential technical understanding.

Workfront Automation Platform

Workfront provides a mature, stable and rich development environment on which to create and deliver integrations as well as a REST-ful API architecture that can be utilized to achieve work management efficiencies that may be tailored to specific vertical markets or targeted industry solutions. The Workfront Automation Platform (see figure 1) includes:

Notifications/Alerting (e-mail, pager, phone, browser, etc.), and much more

Two-way synchronization with objects and data including documents, notes, updates and hours.

Configurable filters for objects.

Once an integration or new solution is developed to the Workfront Automation Platform, it can leverage information and workflow from Workfront or from another integration/solution. Together with the Workfront Automation Platform, the Workfront Developer Partner program provides a foundation of comprehensive development tools with instruction and example code showing ways in which to leverage the Workfront REST-ful based Application Programming Interfaces (APIs) exposed throughout the architecture.

Workfront Customer Base and Sales

Hundreds of unique companies use Workfront to manage work throughout their organizations and across heterogeneous environments. These customers come back, again and again, to license Workfront and new integrations to leverage their existing investment. The majority of these customers prefer to implement new connectors and/or solutions that leverage and seamlessly integrate with the Workfront Automation Platform. The Workfront sales force is an active and growing source of customer requests for out of the box or custom integrations and various vertical market solutions. Building an

integration practice or a unique solution that brings work management order to the chaos of traditionally complex markets and/or inefficient intradepartmental communications; e.g. Manufacturing, Health Care, Financial, Insurance, Construction, Government, Sales, IT, Marketing, Product Development, etc. afford our partners the chance to capitalize on these opportunities.

Workfront Partner Connect Portal

The WDP program provides partner’s access to a Portal that is designed to provide a centralized source of content and resources for program members. The Portal hosts the latest developer tools and documentation, a knowledgebase library with FAQs, and is home to Workfront developer-oriented forums, enabling administrators and developers to post questions, review answers to common topics, share code, and interact with peers such as other Workfront customers or business partners. Furthermore, Workfront provides each developer partner, a development environment to implement, test, and develop upon.

Workfront Developer Partner Resources

ISV level partners are assigned internal resources to help enable their success. These internal resources act as a liaison or advocate within Workfront to help promote or overcome issues that may hinder integration, development, testing, etc. These advocates are called “ISV Alliance Managers” and they have the responsibility to administer and be the developers’ champion for all program benefits. The ISV Alliance Manager will conduct quarterly project reviews to determine past performance, current status and objectives, expectations, reoccurring issues, improvement plans, and request and assign additional resources, if needed.

PROGRAM DELIVERABLES

Training and Certifications

Workfront offers many options for partner training and certification including

implementation only partners. A complete Workfront Partner Certification & Training Guide is available at partners.workfront.com/certification. Product and Developer trainings are essential for WDP partners to achieve even basic Workfront automations and integrations. Partners who place a high degree of importance on proper technical education and training significantly outperform partners who don’t. Workfront strongly recommends complete training and certification for all personnel involved with Workfront automation, integrations and application development.

Workfront functionality and services to serve as the foundation for automations, integrations and solution development on the Workfront Automation Platform. DEVELOPER TRAINING

Workfront provides customized developer training to both Integration and ISV level partners. This course is held on a regularly scheduled quarterly basis at the Workfront corporate head-quarters, in Lehi, Utah. In addition, the day before our annual LEAP conference, wherever LEAP is held, an extra class is conducted to accommodate those customers and partners needing technical training who are also attending the Workfront LEAP conference. It is recommended that all partner personnel involved in programming to the Workfront API attend developer training. This training provides customized information for the developer’s environment and the integration or solution being developed. Developer support engineers with extensive experience with Workfront product code and APIs conduct developer training.

Development Environment & Tools

Partners receive both production and test drive development environments. These environments can be used for development, testing, staging, and/or evaluation purposes only.

Partner has access to the Workfront API Explorer and documentation that provides a complete library of REST-ful APIs that range from authentication to nested objects. In addition, due to Workfront’s SaaS based architecture, use of REST-ful APIs and browser user interface, Workfront is agnostic to any particular programming language that you choose to develop in. To aid developers, Workfront provides sample code of a few complex API queries in the top programming languages and equally as important a request response manual that provides the exact response format that results from each Workfront API call or request.

Developer Support

Workfront provides several options for developer support to meet the needs of both Integrator and ISV level partners. Developer support is included in both Workfront Gold and Platinum level support packages and is available as an a la carte option for purchase separately for Silver level support customers and those needing additional developer support incidents.
