Getting Started
This chapter introduces the AmeSecurities application. The following sub-topics are included:

1. Key in the Username and Password, as shown in Figure 1.1. To invoke the keypad, simply
touch the Username textbox. After keying in the information, click the done button to close the keypad.

The AmeSecurities Home (Figure 1.2) consists of the Quote Screen and a function menu (highlighted in red). The functions available are:
1. Search
This feature enables the user to search and/or trade counters.
2. Watchlist
This feature enables the user to store, monitor and keep track of the performance of selected stocks.
3. Market Summary
This feature displays the summary of trade market.
4. Order Book
This feature tracks the current order status and displays it according to Filled Orders, Open Orders and etc.

5. Portfolio
This feature consists of Personal Portfolio which shows the current stock holdings in terms of market value and unrealized gain/loss.
6. Indices
This feature enables the user to view the market trend of each index.
7. Exchange

This feature enables the user to view the latest news from the exchange.
9. Settings
This feature enables the user to change the password and PIN, set the refresh rate and also to retrieve the PIN.
10. Logout
This feature enables the user to log out from the AmeSecurities application.

CHAPTER 2
ViewsThis chapter focuses on the some of the basic functions that are found in AmeSecurities application. The following sub-topics are included:

2.1. Quote Screen
1. By default, the Quote Screen (Figure 2.1) shows the top 20 movers of All Stocks in the
market.

2. Apart from showing the top 20 movers, the quote screen may be sorted to show the
following: Top Gainer Top Gainer % Top Loser Top Loser % Top Value
To sort, simply click the respective button at the filter menu (highlighted in red).
3. To view the Quotes from other markets (if applicable), simply select the Exchange icon at

4. User also has the option to view the basic stock info and the detailed information of a
stock, as per the following steps:

To view the detailed stock information at the Stock Info screen (as shown in Figure
2.4), tap at the last done price.

2.2. Search
1. This function enables the user to search for specific counter(s). To access this feature,
simply select the Search icon at the Function Menu.
2. Then, do the following:

Figure 2.6 shows the search result. User may enter the stock name in full or enter a partial
data to conduct a search.

2.3. Market Summary
1. The Market Summary (Figure 2.7) shows the summary of the current exchange for the
trading day such as Total Volume, Total Value and etc.

2. To open the Market Summary, simply access the Function Menu and select Market
Summary.
3. To view the statistics of traded counter, untraded counter, number counters traded high

4. To view the Market Summary of other markets (if applicable), simply select the Exchange

2.4. Indices
1. Figure 2.9 shows the indices screen. To view the movement of these indices, simply access
the Function Menu and select Indices.
2. To view the Opening, High and Low price of any index, just tap at the relevant index.

2.5. News
1. The News function enables the user to view news updates from the stock exchange. To
activate this function, simply select the News icon at the Function Menu. The Reload icon (highlighted at Figure 2.10), retrieves the latest news from the exchange.

3.1. How to Create and Maintain a WatchList
1. The Watchlist function enables a user to save selected counters in a list for ease of
monitoring. To activate the Watchlist function, access the Function Menu and select WatchList. Figure 3.1 shows the Watchlist screen. Any watchlist saved will be shown here.

2. To create a new watchlist, do the following:

Enter the watchlist name and select the OK button.
3. The Edit button at the bottom left-hand corner (as shown in Figure 3.1) may be used to
rename a Watchlist or delete a Watchlist.
4. To delete a Watchlist, select the Edit button and do the following:

This will activate the Delete button. To confirm the action, select the Delete button.
5. To rename a Watchlist, select the Edit button and do the following:

Then, enter the new name for the Watchlist and select the OK button, as shown in
Figure 3.5.
6. User may view the contents of a Watchlist and the basic info of a counter in the Watchlist,
by following the steps below:
Select the required Watchlist first from the main Watchlist screen to view its contents.

7. To go back to Watchlist menu, select the Watchlist button located at the top left-hand

3.2. How to Add and Remove a Favourite Stock
1. To add a favourite counter, do the following:
First, go the Home screen and access the Stock Info screen (as shown in Figure 3.7) of the counter, by tapping at respective Last Done price.

Next, select the +WATCH button. This prompts a selection of Watchlists available, as shown in Figure 3.8. Choose the Watchlist to add the counter to and subsequently select the done button.

Upon successfully adding the counter, the system will prompt a confirmation message.
2. To remove a counter from a Watchlist, do the following:

Next, select the Edit button as shown in Figure 3.10.

Let’s Start Trading

4.1. Basics of the Trade Function
1. The Trade function enables a user to buy or sell a counter.

2. The Trade screen (Figure 4.1) consists of the following elements:
Basic stock info of the counter such as Name and Last Done Price.
Account number and Credit Balance.
PRICE, which is the Last Done price by default.
QTY, which is 0 by default. (For derivatives, the trade unit is 1 whereas for equities,
the trade unit is either 100 units or 1000 units, depending upon the trade exchange).
ORDER TYPE such as Limit, Market and Market to Limit. The options available are
dependent upon the trade exchange.
VALIDITY period such as Day, FAK (Fill and Kill) and GTD (Good Till Date). The options
available are dependent upon the trade exchange.
CURRENCY such as MYR. The option(s) available are dependent upon the trade
exchange.
PAYMENT such as Cash. The option(s) available are dependent upon the trade
exchange.
Skip Confirmation option to do away with the trade confirmation message.

4.2. How to Create a Trade Order for Equity/Derivative
1. First, select the trade counter as per steps below:
Access the Home screen first and then open the Stock Info screen of the chosen counter by tapping at the Last Done price.
Subsequently, select the TRADE button to open the Trade screen as shown in
Figure 4.2.

2. Then tap at the PRICE and QTY field respectively to enter the relevant information. This

3. Subsequently, select the appropriate ORDER TYPE, VALIDITY, CURRENCY and PAYMENT
by scrolling through the options. (If user chooses the Good Till Date VALIDITY period, a DATE field will be prompted.
4. Then click the Buy or Sell button. This action will prompt for the Trading Pin as shown in
Figure 4.4.

5. Tap at the Trading Pin field to enter the relevant pin. User may select Remember Pin

6. A trade confirmation message will be prompted as shown in Figure 4.6. Select the Submit
Order button to confirm the order.

1. By default, the Order Book displays ALL ORDERS that have been submitted to the broking
house.
2. To access the Order Book (Figure 5.1), simply go to the Function Menu and select the
Order book icon.

3. User may filter the orders according to order status such as Open Orders, Filled Order and
etc. To filter the order(s), do the following:
Tap at the ALL ORDERS button and select the required status (as shown in Figure
5.2).

4. User may also view the order status of an order in detail at the Order Book, as shown in
Figure 5.3. To view the order status, simply tap at the required order.

5.2. Portfolio
1. The Portfolio (Figure 5.4 shows the counters currently held by the user. To access it, go
to Function Menu and select the Portfolio icon. By default, this action will load the portfolio of the current trading account.

2. User may also view the advanced portfolio details of a trading account as shown in Figure
5.5. To view the advanced details, simply tap at the required counter.

1. User may change the password periodically for security purpose.
2. To change password. do the following:
Access the Function Menu and select the Settings icon. This will display the Settings menu as shown in Figure 6.1.

Select the Change Password option to open the Change Password screen (Figure
6.2). Then enter the required information and select the Submit button.

1. User may also change the Pin periodically for security purpose.
2. To change the Pin, do the following:
Access the Function Menu and select the Settings icon. Subsequently, select the Change Pin option from the menu to open the Change Pin screen (Figure 6.3).

1. User may also retrieve the Pin in case forgotten.
2. To retrieve the Pin, do the following:

3. The Portfolio (Figure 5.4 shows the counters currently held by the user. To access it, go
to Function Menu and select the Portfolio icon. By default, this action will load the portfolio of the current trading account.

6.1. Change Password
3. User may change the password periodically for security purpose.
4. To change password. do the following:
Access the Function Menu and select the Settings icon. This will display the Settings menu as shown in Figure 6.1.

Select the Change Password option to open the Change Password screen (Figure
6.2). Then enter the required information and select the Submit button.

3. User may also change the Pin periodically for security purpose.
4. To change the Pin, do the following:
Access the Function Menu and select the Settings icon. Subsequently, select the Change Pin option from the menu to open the Change Pin screen (Figure 6.3).
