HERE WE GO AGAIN

Do you ever get tired of negative patterns in your own life?

• Pledge to lose weight

• Lose weight

• Gain it back

• Pledge to save money

• Save

• Go back in debt

• Pledge to get in God’s Word daily

• Start strong

• Fail

The song is the same, Here we go again! It seems like the same song with a different verse. That’s the story of the Old Testament - the pattern repeats itself:

• God makes a covenant with His people.

• There’s conflict as people sin and separate from Him.

• They encounter Christ: Though not in bodily form, we see images that point to Him throughout the Old Testament.

As we walk through this study, there are three simples truths that are transformative:

1. God is who He says He is … not who we say He is.

2. While God is faithful, our tendency is to mess things up.

It’s called sin and it’s ugly!

3. Christ is the only one who can save us from our mess.

These truths jump off the pages of the Old Testament. In this study, there will be lots of opportunities to dig deeper. By applying them, we can break ugly behavioral patterns.

My prayer is that the truth of God’s Word in the Old Testament will come alive. We can experience His deep work in our lives.

It all happens through the power and person of Jesus!

Let’s jump into this exciting study together!

Use Your IRA to Support Ministries and Save on Taxes

The IRA Charitable Rollover, originally enacted in 2006 and extended several times, has been made permanent.

If you have an IRA and need to take a Required Minimum Distribution, the IRA Charitable Rollover can help you decrease your tax liability and support NMC or other ministries. Here are the details:

Please be sure to check with your accountant about the IRA Charitable Rollover. If you would like more information, please contact Margie Helmuth in the Church Office at 574.773.7773 or [email protected].

Benefits:

Requirements:

• The gift counts towards the minimum required distribution.

• You must have reached age 70 ½.

• Gift must be made directly from your IRA to the charity.

• This opportunity is only available for IRA’s. It can’t be used with a 403(b), 401(k), or other retirement plans.

• You can give up to $100,000 per year to qualifying charities from an IRA, and the distribution does not count as taxable income to you.

• Even if you don’t itemize deductions on your tax return, you can benefit from the IRA Charitable Rollover. The gift decreases income (instead of increasing deductions like most charitable gifts).

9. Here We Go Again...and Again...and Again!

November 24, 2019 | Exodus 19-32

We were not designed to live repeating the same sins over and over again.

God never intended for us to make promises to Him that we can’t keep. The Israelites practiced the same failures repetitively. Not only did they do it in the Old Testament, that pattern often becomes the norm for us. But there’s a better way to live. The power of Christ not only forgives us our sins but gives us the power to live victoriously over the repetitive cycle of sin. “If the Son sets you free, you are free indeed!” –John 8:36
