Subject: BPR proposal of Government Banking Unit, PSBs regarding dispatch of PPOs to PSBs CPPC instead of Link Branches.
Reference – This office circular No 465 dated 15.07.2011 and 474 dated: 17.11.2011.
As per the existing practice, PPOs after notification are supplied to the respective Record Offices for necessary check and onwards transmission to the Link Branch concerned of the paying branch of the bank nominated by the Defence Pensioner. Now it has been decided that PPOs notified by the Pension Sanctioning Authorities in favour of PSBs shall be dispatched to the concerned CPPC instead of the Link Branch through concerned Record Offices.
2.. A list of 17 CPPC of various PSBs and 10 CPPC of PNB showing their BSR
Code Telephone No/Fax No/Postal Address / Email address of each CPPC is enclosed as Annexure I and Annexure II respectively. Necessary software program is being modified by the EDP Centre of this office to capture the PSBs CPPC details in the PPOs where the Defence Pensioner has opted PSBs for receiving the pensionary benefits. As soon as the software program is modified full detail of the PSB, CPPC will be reflected in the PPO where the Defence Pensioner has opted to draw pension from PSBs.
3. In view of the position brought out above, it is requested that hither- to-fore all
the PPOs where the Defence Pensioner has opted to draw pension from PSBs may be forwarded to the respective CPPC for further necessary action ignoring the fact that the Link Branch address is printed on the PPO. It is also advised that in future only address of CPPC of PSBs will be filled in LPC-Cum Data sheet as brought out in this office circular No. 474 dated 17.11.2011 for State Bank of India.
