PREPARE GATOR

NOTE: Be sure hood is bolted to frame before proceeding with Step 1.

1. Position one flat washer (N) at edge of hood and top of fender as shown.

2. Make a mark in center (P) of washer hole with a scribing tool. Remove washer.

3. While pressing the hood down and in against the dash, drill a small pilot hole at the mark through the hood and through the dash.

4. Repeat steps 1-3 on opposite side of GATOR.

REMOVE HOOD

1. Remove four hex head screws (Q) and lift the hood up and off the machine. Retain hardware.

2. Enlarge pilot holes just drilled in hood to 5/16”.

3. Using a cutting tool, trim off lower edge of dash lip (dotted line area) on each side of GATOR.

4. Enlarge pilot holes (R) in dash to 3/8”.

5. Install one clamp nut (M) over each hole with flat surface (S) to outside.

LOCATE AND DRILL WINDSHIELD BRACKET

HOLES

1. On the underside of the hood, identify lines (T) molded into the hood running parallel to both sides.

2. Place a flat bracket (I) to the inside of the line with the large hole (U) of the bracket to the rear of the hood (V) as indicated. Use the bracket as a template to mark the holes to be drilled in the hood. Do for both sides of the hood.

3. The plate location should be 800 mm (31.5 Inches) from outer edge to outer edge and the holes should be 740 mm (29.1 Inches) on center. The rear edge of the plate should be located 90 mm (3.5 Inches) from the rear edge of the hood.

NOTE: Before drilling the holes for the brackets, make sure the large hole is to be located nearest the rear edge of the hood (closest to the dashboard when installed). M86023 S M86024 M M58808 U V M58806 I T M58807 U V

4. Drill a 12 mm (31/64 Inch) hole (W) for the rear hole and an 8 mm (11/32 Inch) hole (X) for the two remaining holes. File the holes to remove any burrs. Do for both sides.

INSTALL BRACKETS

1. For each set of holes in the hood, place a welded bracket (H) on the top side of the hood, aligning the holes in the plate with the holes in the hood.

2. Insert a 1/4x3/4 Inch bolt (K) in the middle drilled hole from the top side.

3. From the underside of the hood, place a flat bracket (I) onto the bolt inserted through the middle bracket hole. Turn a 1/4-Inch lock nut (L) onto the bolt. Align

remaining hole in brackets with hole in the hood and insert a 1/4x3/4-Inch bolt from the top through both plates and turn on a 1/4-Inch lock nut. Repeat for the other side. Tighten all nuts firmly.

ASSEMBLE WINDSHIELD

1. From the inside of the windshield, install one grommet (D) in each hole.

2. Install one small black flat washer (C) on the threaded studs of each wire form as shown.

(5)

3. Position wire forms on inside of windshield with bent leg (B) down toward notched edge (Q). Install threaded studs (P) of wire forms through grommets (D).

4. Install one clear plastic retainer (E) on each threaded stud with cupped side away from grommet.

5. Install one 1/4” hex nut (F) on the end of each threaded stud so the top of the nut is flush with end of stud (P).

6. Secure wire forms to windshield by tightening inside nuts (R). Be careful not to overtighten as grommet (D) may be severed by flat washer.

7. Install one black plastic cap (G) over the clear plastic retainer surrounding the nut.

INSTALL WINDSHIELD

1. Install hood onto vehicle.

IMPORTANT: To prevent the possibility of premature failure of headlight bulbs due to the hood (S) contacting the headlight housing (T), when installing hood back on machine, be sure

2. Secure hood with original hardware as well as two new flat washers (N) and M6x20 bolts (O). Turn the M6x20 bolts into the clamp nuts previously installed.

3. Lift windshield (A) into place on the vehicle and insert the wire forms (B) attached to the windshield into the welded bracket bushings (V).

4. Turn adjustment knobs (J) into the bushings of the welded brackets (V) on the hood.

ADJUSTING WINDSHIELD

1. The windshield can be adjusted for height to fit the needs of the driver.

2. Loosen the knobs (J) of both brackets to allow the free up and down motion of the wire forms (B) as the

windshield is raised or lowered.

3. Lift the windshield to desired height and tighten the knobs firmly. N O M86025 M58815 A V V B J M58816 J B M58818
