District 93 encourages you to become involved in your child’s education as an active member of your school’s Parent/

Teacher Association (PTA). Each elementary and middle school’s PTA maintains a webpage where visitors can find calendar events, newsletters, and other important documents. Many also maintain social media accounts.

All PTAs hold regular meetings and email newsletters to parents. With an increase in Zoom meetings, be sure to double-

check whether a meeting is in-person or online before attending. Watch for more information from the PTA at your

child’s school and find out how to connect online or via email below!

Information

School Closing

If District 93 schools must be closed due to weather, District 93 families are notified by way of the automated call, email, and text system.

Emergency closing information may be accessed online at the district website: www.ccsd93.com, at District 93 school homepages, and at www.emergencyclosings.com. You can also find the information posted to District social media account pages.

The following stations carry school closing announcements:*

RADIO: AM - 720 (WGN), 780 (WBBM)

TV: 2 (CBS), 5 (NBC), 7 (ABC), 9 (WGN), 32 (FOX), CLTV (cable)

*Listen for DuPage County school closings. Individual school names are not announced, only district names and numbers, by county. Please note that there is more than one “District 93” but only one in DuPage County.

The decision to send a child to school in severe weather is always at the discretion of a student’s parents. Parents who feel that conditions are unsafe for their child to attend school, even if school is open, should keep their child home that day.

Current Information

Updated information about the district is provided in your district Parent Handbook, each school’s handbook, and the district website, www.ccsd93.com. The district also publishes a weekly electronic newsletter to which parents are subscribed at registration. We encourage you to watch for communications from your child’s school throughout the year, including letters from the principal and superintendent, school newsletters, and classroom newsletters. Visit your school’s website for current information or to email school staff members. For more on CCSD93 online, view page 4 of this calendar.
