The TCR easy Plus Alarm – from now on known as TC device – is a remote switch-ing and alarmswitch-ing device. It allows the switching of one electrical device and can send off two alarm mes-sages via the telephone net-work. Each of the two alarm inputs can automatically dial three phone numbers and notify with a voice message, if an alarm input has been activated by a connected contact.

Both alarm inputs can seperately be activated or deactivated.

The switching takes place with DTMF-signals (DTMF= Dual-Tone Multi-Frequency). This can either be performed with a DTMF-telephone or a DTMF pocket dialer. Individual user data are easy to program by a telephone call.

The operation is supported by announcements. You can choose between three languages. The TC device is built in a housing for mounting on a DIN-rail (4 module width). The switching functions can be carried out via the

tele-phone line as well as with the built-in push-buttons (see page 6).

They will be protected by use of a 4-digit code num-ber.

All settings and switching states of the outputs will be saved during a power failure and be restored after the re-turn of power.

(5)

The mounting and installa-tion of the TC device in an electrical distribution box must be performed by a qualified electrician. Pay attention to actual norms, in order to fulfill the general safety requirements for telecommunication sys-tems and to avoid disturbing interferences.

A physical separation or suitable partition wall must be provided (clearance or shielding).

1 Connect the subscriber line at the screw terminals La and Lb (ring and tip) of the device. Additional telephone jacks can be connected to terminal a2 and b2 (see page 6). The device can also be connected at an extension of a telephone system. The upper terminal block has to be pulled out for connection of the wires. 2 The terminals L1 and N

must be connected with 230-V-mains (see page 6).

The terminals can hold wires up to max. 1 x 1.5 mm². 3 The wiring for the device

must carried out accord-ing to the diagram on page 6.

Putting into Operation Installation

(6)

Legend: S1: external push-button M1/M2: inputs 6 Installation Attention:

Use appropriate fuses for the circuit according to the max. contact load (see technical data, page 25) Connection of the TC Device

Hint:

For the local operation of the output, an external push-button can be connected, which is electrically connec-ted parallel to the integraconnec-ted on/off-push-button.

(7)

Installation

The default settings of the delivery state can be re-stored any time by pressing both push-buttons until the LEDs start blinking while powering up the TC device. The right column can be used to note your own set-tings.

State Request Operation

After calling and seizure of the telephone line, the lan-guage selection (at the first call) as well as correct entry of the code number the state of the connected de-vice can be checked via the telephone with DTMF (#), switch the device on or off (0, 1, 6) or modify the indi-vidual settings of the TC de-vice (9) – like alarm phone numbers, own phone num-ber, answering machine mode, ringing signals, code number, number of dial at-tempts or language. The automatic call

accept-ance will be activated with the push-button . The as-signed LED lights up. The device seizes the tele-phone line after reception of the programmed number of ringing signals (see page 11 and 18). With the S1 push-button the device connected to the output can be switched on or off. The as-signed LED S1 indicates the switching state (LED lit = on).

The LED starts blinking after receiving the first ring-ing signal.

If the TC device sends off an alarm message via the telephone line, it will first an-nounce the own phone number. The own phone number (max. 24 digits) will be programmed in the menu settings (”3”).

Own Phone Number If a contact is activated, the

programmed alarm phone number will automatically be called. A telephone connect-ed at the terminals a2/b2 will be switched off during the alarm by a relay of the TC device. Alarms occuring dur-ing a remote switchdur-ing ses-sion (the TC device has the telephone line already in use), will be processed after releasing the telephone line. Each of the three up to 24-digits phone numbers can be programmed in the menu settings under input 1/2. At the same position the ap-propriate input can be acti-vated (”4”).

Alarm Phone Numbers and De-/Activating Inputs If a confirmation does not

take place, alarm messages will be announced at the programmed alarm phone number up until the pro-grammed number of dial at-tempts has been reached. There is a two minute break between the dial attempts, independent from whether or not the called party has an-swered the call.

(11)

Code Number Ringing Signal Setting

In order to address a con-nected answering machine instead of the TC device via the telephone line, the de-vice can be set to an ans-wering machine mode in the menu settings (”4”). If the answering machine mode has been activated, the TC device will not switch on at an incoming call. If the caller releases the telephone line after one ringing signal, waits at least 10 seconds and calls again within 60 seconds, the TC device switches on after the first ringing signal.

Operation

The amount of ringing sig-nals until the TC device an-swers the call can be set in the menu settings (”5”). The default setting is ”2”. If the answering machine mode is activated, the amount of ringing signals is not significant.

The four digit code number can be set in the menu set-tings (”6”). In delivery state the code number ”0000” is set. If the code number ”1111” is set, the testing of the code number is left out (see page 24). The connec-tion will be released, after entering the wrong code number three times. The default settings can be restored by a procedure (see page 7), if you have forgotten your code number. Attention: All individual set-tings will be erased. Answering Machine Mode

Setting Procedures For programming the param-eters the phone line of the TC device must be called from a telephone. After en-tering the code number, the menu settings can be se-lected by dialing the digit ”9”. The menu will start with the following announcement described as ”setting an-nouncement” in the exam-ples: ”Settings. To set the alarm phone numbers, press one for input 1 and press two for input 2. To set your own phone number, press three. To set the answering machine mode, press four. Operation

The number of alarm calls carried out by the TC device can be set from ”1” to ”12” (”7”). The programmed phone numbers will be called on after the other until the programmed number of dial attempts has been-reached.

Language

The language of the announ-cements can be selected with digit ”8”. It can be cho-sen from German, English and Dutch.

(13)

To set the amount of ringing signals, press five. To set the code number, press six. To set the number of dial at-tempts, press seven, to se-lect a language press eight.” The announcement will be repeated several times. It can be interrupted at any position during a silence period by entering a DTMF-digit.

Only at initial operation it will be asked for the language. After language selection all sequences are identical with the ones described before. The impulse time of 1 se-cond can not be changed. Operation

Power Supply

The feeding of the TC de-vice can be alternatively done with 12 V (UPS). In this case the power feeding must be connected at termi-nals 12 V (plus) and (mi-nus; see page 6).

When the TC device seized the telepone line and no DTMF-signals have been re-ceived for 60 seconds, the device will release the tele-phone line.

If the code number ”1111” is set, the testing of the code number will be left out, which means directly after seizing the telephone line switching functions and menu settings can be per-formed.

All settings and the actual switching states are perma-nently stored and are there-fore, available after a power failure. If a power failure takes place during an alarm call, the alarm call will be peated after the power re-turns.
