• Mobile service management

The systems and services to inventory network contracts and endpoints. Mobile service management may also audit and log user network service performance and availability and assign qualitative and quantitative ratings to mobile network operators (MNOs) relating to negotiated SLAs. Mobile service management also offers the ability to audit and optimise spending on mobile services, based on ongoing inspection of contracts, standing inventories and call details. Proactive usage management, where usage has a threshold based on policies on global and regional roaming, expense thresholds and location, is in scope. Many of these service management features are stand-alone capabilities offered in telecom expense management (TEM) solutions.

Welcome to a world of

mobile management

To ensure the long term success of your mobility

solution(s), you’ll need to provide a set of services

specifically designed to overcome the day to day

barriers of usability. This includes dealing with device

and operating system challenges, managing inventory

and assets, including upgrade pathways – all requiring

significant resource commitments and expertise.

Mobilise IT device and application managed service

solutions can help, deliver all of these services and more

so you can concentrate on doing what you do best...

• device and system management

The systems and services that make device-specific information visible, measure device performance and health diagnostics, manage and optimize connection options (cellular, hot spot and Wi-Fi), establish process control and apply consistent change and revision management processes and methodologies. The ongoing support of the mobility management servers is in scope. This managed service category also includes service desk and help desk capabilities to address user technical requests for corporate-liable devices (for example, Level 2 and Level 3 help desk).

• application and messaging management

The systems and services to enable corporate messaging and mobile application distribution and updating (updates, upgrades, patches/fixes) across diverse devices and OSs This service offering often includes release and change management and incident and problem management of commercial off-the-shelf mobile applications. Similar services may be provided for proprietary/customized applications as well. Note that mobile

application development is not within the scope of this Magic Quadrant.

• Security and content management

The systems and services to administer and enforce rule-based policies relating to access and consumption of corporate resources and content through authentication, encryption and containerization.

These policies may also help to define resource entitlement, such as type of device, service plans and the allowance of third-party apps on devices (for example blacklist/ whitelist). Requests for release and change management related to security and content management in an MMS contract are most often controlled by the service provider unless the user requests root access.

• Program and financial management

The ability to act as an agent on behalf of a customer with third-party providers — such as MNOs, application publishers (independent software vendors [ISVs]), device OEMs and device resellers — to conduct ongoing and project-based services on behalf of the user; for example, service outages and network performance and coverage issues, warranty management, device

upgrade management and local number portability transfer issues. Financial management relates to device financing plans, program audits, payments and disputes (for example, accounts payable) and allocation of mobility expenses. Included within this service offering may be service contract novation (a change of obligation), where the provider becomes the customer of record and the provider takes ownership of corporate-liable devices. Many of these capabilities lie at the core of mobility outsourcing agreements.

The Bottom Line!

Mobilise IT MMS services are priced per device per month, including all project and consulting based services. MMS Service customisation or platform integration services may attract additional charges.

Consistently trying to keep up with the latest mobile technology available to a business is expensive and time consuming. Mobilise IT handle some of Australia’s largest companies and keep up on industry best practices, this means Mobilise IT know what works and what doesn’t. This kind of knowledge and experience dramatically reduces our clients risk puts us ahead of the rest of the MMS market.

Exceptional industry knowledge

The return on investment is so much greater when dealing with a company who started dealing with MMS solutions from its absolute infancy. Mobilise IT can call on the knowledge of a whole team who have a vast and proven track record in delivering MMS solutions along with the required industry training and certifications to back it up.

Outstanding customer service

The level of customer service provided by Mobilise IT is far superior to the norm. Your call will be answered promptly and your problem resolved without the need to be handballed around to a bunch of different departments, and possibly overseas. The person on the other end of the line will sympathise with your problem and help the end user with constant updates keeping the user in the loop and reassuring them their problem is being investigated.

Mass deployment scenario

Company ThunderCats have decided to roll out a number of iPads for their sales staff to use in the field. They wish to perform the rollout at a rate of 100 devices per month, for a 12 month period, equalling a total of 1200 devices. They have worked out to provision the devices with the correct applications etc. takes 1 hour, it’s an additional hour for the admin/logistical involved in deploying the devices. If the company do this internally, they would require at least 2 fulltime staff to reach the 100 a month quota. As its 200 hours per month of required work. This would cost the ThunderCats at least $100,000 for wages, this figure also doesn’t include the additional expenses like super, work cover insurance as well as the large volume of necessary infrastructure required such as PC’s

and a suitable work area. The amount of training would also be extensive and the risk of losing knowledge and more importantly time due to employee turnover is alarmingly high. If the ThunderCats Company were to utilise the services of Mobilise IT to help them achieve their goal, all of the required resources and additional risks would be largely minimised. Mobilise IT could perform the task of provisioning and deploying 100 devices a month at a cost of $80 per device. This would come at an overall cost of $96,000 while greatly reducing the headaches and subsequent risks involved with managing it internally. The ThunderCats organisation would also be assured the monthly target of 100 per month isn’t disrupted due to employee turnover or lack of training/knowledge.
