network and computer systems within the Police Department in Pontypridd. As well if there is
potential issues within the system your job will be to diagnose and fix the problem. You will also
be required to monitor the network and systems to improve the performance.

Animator for a Computer Games Studio
A Games Studio – Cardiff
£40,000 - £80,000 a year
We are looking for a new animator to work in a Games Studio which will be required to work
with both 3D and 2D animations. You need to know how the body and objects would normally
move in different environments. You would need to be able to communicate and work well as a
team as you would have to work with various other departments. Great enthusiasm and
passion would be a great asset to have.
Having technical knowledge on any one of these programs like Maya, 3DS Max, Motion builder,
Mud box, Sketchbook, Character generator etc. Would be a requirement to work here.

Problem solving So then if something is broken and you know how to fix it you do so. Otherwise you can search up the issue online or in a book and fix it from there.
IT skills IT skills is valued by employers as businesses tend to use some form of computing work in various ways and would always need a basic understanding of word processor etc.
Numeracy skills Numeracy skills are valued by employers as then they know that you can manage money/finance of yourself which comes under self-management as well but also in jobs where you have to work on a till or manage pricing in a shop.
Business and customer awareness skills
Business and customer awareness skill is valued by employers as then you have knowledge on the business and how it works as well as being able to deal with different situations with customers difficult or not.
Technical knowledge Technical Knowledge is valued by employers as then you understand specific things in your field of work. Like in IT how to work a computer and different software like word processor.
Leadership and organisational skills
Leadership and organisational skills are valued by employers as then you are able to organise yourself in a timeframe or in the workplace
organising stock or a filing system etc. Organisation with leadership will allow you to organise times for the business and help whoever you are leading to do better in whatever area they work in. And as well good leadership skills would be able to organise you area better.

Self-Management
Being able to self-manage helps to be organised for instance like the files seen below in the
screenshot. Where all the Units have their own separate files allocated to them. This allows me to find Assignment work with ease, quickly as I will know exactly where the assignment is at any time when I need access to it, therefore making me able to deliver Assignments on time. As well as it is on Office 365 I can access any files from any place, and device which has an Internet Connection to it. Which then means I am able to finish off work at various places.
Teamworking
For the group work we produced a power point presentation about a real time information app
we chose to do the BBC news app. We then separated the work out so we did at least two
slides each. For each of the slides we had to look into the app further to try and get more
knowledge of what features this app includes as well how it is suitable for the user.
Technical Knowledge/Problem Solving
On the table were all components to set up a PC when we first entered the room. I then started assembling the PC, by picking up two power cables and plug it into the back of the computer and the monitor but not into the plug socket on the floor as otherwise the PC would be powered.
Secondly I plugged in the mouse and keyboard into the USB ports which were located on the back of the computer. Making sure it was well connected. As well as placing the monitor and computer into a generic position. Which would then be suitable for a user to work at.
Towards the end I connected the monitor to the computer with a VGA (Video Graphics Array) cable, by plugging it into the allocated slot and then tightened the screws. Again making sure it was fully
connected on both sides the computer and monitor. So when it would be connected it will show the display when the PC would be powered and turned on. Afterwards I booted up the PC by pressing the power button and then logged in. The operating system that is running on this PC is Windows XP.
Application of IT
An example of my IT skills is shown in this piece of work. This screenshot shows my review of two multimedia products. Linear and an Interactive Product. I pointed out various functions of the site but I would hope to improve by pointing out more functions and including more detail in certain areas of the work. The software which I used was Microsoft word. The IT skills were shown within this document by analysing the two sites thoroughly. Then explaining the features and functions.
