This article discusses the issue of women of color dying at an increased rate compared other women who are pregnant. The rate at which women are dying is too high and the article states that at least 60% of maternal deaths are preventable. The care women recieve after birth is low and mental health is neglected signifcantly.

decreasing their maternal mortality rated, the United States is increasing theirs. In 2015, maternal deaths were 26 out of 100,000 which was an increase from 1990 when the average was 17 out of 100,000.

This article talks about the raising issues currently occuring in helathcare related to women and addresses the push for c-sections whn they arent medically necesssary. This was the most current article used as it was written last month on maternal mortality rates.

This article disusses maternal care and what women need to know about childbirth as well as thier pregnancy. The main focus is childbirth, as it is titled "Safe Health Birth: What Every Preganant Woman Needs to Know".

This artilce helped me with find reliable statistics as it is a national healthcare organization. This article looks beyond statistics and goes on to discuss causes and solutions. This article discusses the fact that the United States has the highest maternal death rate of any developed country. It also explains the rate of complication in American women's pregnancies compared to other countries.

This article discussed maternal mortality in an overview and provided brief statistics for the reader to understand the severity of this issue in healthcare. Shah also discussed how to help and what can be done to help with the death rate.
