Chubu Logistics Solution Fair-2016 Expo

○ About Chubu Logistics Solution Fair-2016 Expo

Faced with a dwindling birthrate, an aging population, and economic globalization,

Japan’s economic model is showing a tendency to contract. The only way to stop this

is to improve the flow of people, things, money, and information. The distribution of

goods is like the circulatory system in humans; parts of the body where blood stops

flowing will rot. Regions where blood does not flow properly will become

underpopulated regions. Also, logistics is the strategic force behind goods distribution

and thus the cornerstone of economic activity.

The Chubu area is in the center of the Japanese archipelago. It contains 13 key

ports, 8 airports, 16 national high-grade trunk highways including the No.1 Tokai

Expressway, the Tokaido and Hokuriku Shinkansen railway lines, and the following

top national candidates for factory locations: Aichi prefecture (No.1); Shizuoka

prefecture (No. 2); and Gifu prefecture (No. 7). According to “The Theory of Location

of Industries” by Alfred Weber, minimizing transportation fees is the main condition

when building a factory. On the contrary, the cost of good distribution is unnecessarily

high as it is opaque. This logistics trade show aims to demonstrate “Integrating the

entire Chubu area—towards a model for regional revitalization!” in order to aim for

regional revitalization and reduction of goods distribution costs. The trade show will

be held in Nagoya, in the Chubu area.

Please consider using this trade show for your business development and sales

expansion needs in the Chubu area.
