Boren Scholarships are funded by the National Security Education Program (NSEP), which focuses on geographic areas, languages, and fields of study deemed critical to U.S. national security, broadly defined as challenges of global society, including: sustainable development, environmental degradation, global disease and hunger, population growth and migration, and economic competitiveness.

Diversity Network Summer Scholarship * Eligible Mills programs through Boston University – Australia, Belize, China, Ecuador, England, France, Germany, Ireland, Israel, Italy, New Zealand, Niger, Spain

Students must meet grant criteria and participate on a credit bearing

summer research, study, internships or service-learning/volunteer abroad program. Applicants must be full-time undergraduates at a university or community college. Have minimum cumulative 3.0 GPA. FEA – Fund for Education Abroad

General Scholarship

US citizens or permanent residents currently enrolled as undergraduates in US universities/colleges who plan to study abroad for at least four weeks to participate in high-quality, rigorous education abroad programs.

Rainbow Scholarship

This scholarship will be awarded to a deserving GLBT student who aims to participate in a high-quality, rigorous education abroad program. Applicants must meet general FEA scholarship eligibility requirements & preferences.

The scholarship is open to all undergraduate students currently registered at an institution in the USA or Canada. To be eligible to apply you must have been offered a study abroad or exchange place a UK university or college which is BUTEX affiliated. For Latin American

study abroad only Scholarship is available for anyone over the age of 18 interested in learning, interning or volunteering abroad in Latin America. Candidates may apply for the LIVFund

Scholarship at any time, beginning six [6] months in advance of their program start date. Candidates coming to Latin America with an organized program, designing their own program or still waiting to be accepted to an abroad program are all eligible to apply. Students, interns and volunteers who are already abroad are also eligible to receive funding.

CIS Abroad Leadership

Scholarship All students interested in the CISabroad Leadership Scholarship must have at least a 2.5 GPA or higher and complete all scholarship application requirements (please see below for details).

Recipients will be required to maintain in online journal while overseas.

CIS Abroad Photo Journalist Scholarship

There is no GPA requirement for these scholarships. Interested students should complete all scholarship application requirements and be sure to tell us why you want to be a CISabroad Photo Journalist. Recipients will be required to maintain an online photo journal with at least 100 photos by the end of their program.

$100 plus a digital camera for both semester and summer programs.

CIS Abroad Correspondent Scholarship (semester programs only)

Recipients will be required to maintain an online journal while overseas and participate in at least two study abroad-related events upon returning home.

GAIN Scholarship The GAIN Scholarship was developed to

aide in diversifying study abroad by providing opportunities for students who are economically challenged, from diverse backgrounds, students with documented disabilities, or underrepresented fields of study. Available to CIEE Study Center applicants only. The applicant must self-identify as one or more of the following:

• majoring in an academic area

traditionally underrepresented in study abroad

• a member of a social or ethnic group

traditionally underrepresented in study abroad

• a 1st generation college student • a military veteran or ROTC member • an NCAA athlete

• a non-traditionally aged student • have demonstrated financial need

and/or

• otherwise define barriers to

overcome in order to be able to study abroad

GAIN Reward The GAIN Rewards were developed to help provide grants to further assist students who are selected as awardees by the highly respected Benjamin A. Gilman and David L. Boren Scholarship programs.

Available to CIEE Study Center applicants only. The applicant must have been selected to receive the Boren Scholarship for International Study or the Benjamin A. Gilman International Scholarship, and have greater than $1000 in outstanding,

documented financial need. (NOTE: Students apply for the CIEE GAIN Reward prior to learning if they have received the Boren or Gilman award, and will be prompted by CIEE at a later date to submit additional documentation that they have been granted these awards, and to update financial aid information.)

Health Scholars Fund

For women scholars hoping to make a positive impact on health projects in needy areas. Recipients are expected to spend a semester in-country living and working with local communities and partners to improve their health care system and contribute to the overall improvement of the community’s general health and welfare.

The Middle East and Islamic Studies Scholarship

For students participating in programs with significant Middle Eastern and/or Islamic studies content.

Pell Grant Matching Matching of a student’s Pell award used for semester study abroad programs with SIT. More than 30 SIT programs across the globe are eligible.

Sally Bragg Baker

Scholarship For a female participant in any semester program who demonstrates international awareness and a desire to create a more peaceful world through international exchange.

SIT Fund For anyone enrolled in any SIT Study Abroad program, to help promote study abroad opportunities worldwide.

The Workum Fund For participants in SIT Study Abroad programs to the Indian subcontinent (India, Nepal, and Tibetan and Himalayan Studies programs).
