EVN ensures information quality by enforcing
consistency and best practices through rules
SKOS rules are already provided for organizations wanting to use them (for example, alternative label can not be the same as preferred label). Any number of organization and content specific rules can be easily added.

Vocabularies can have multiple
simultaneous versions or working copies
Working copies enable a review and
approval process before changes are
published. They also make it possible for
different teams to work in parallel.

A working copy of a vocabulary has its
own set of user permissions
Changes made to a working copy are
‘sandboxed’ and will not be applied to a
vocabulary until they are published by a
user who has the right to change the
vocabulary.
With parallel work, EVN users can see if changes they
are making will impact other working copies

The example shows a user working in the ‘Asia
Changes’ working copy of the Geography vocabulary. They want to see if any other working copy has changes to ‘Armenia’ concept

To support the review and approval process, EVN has a
variety of reports, such as a Comparison Report
EVN reports include generation of
vocabulary statistics
This graph shows the number of nodes at each level of a vocabulary hierarchy
This graph shows the distribution of children across concepts. For
example, there are 2 concepts with 13 children.
