DDU KAUSHAL KENDRA PROJECT

ABOUT KAUSHAL

Education plays a vital role in the holistic development of every student. So, it is only fair that every student deserves the right education in the best possible manner. With this as objective, DDU KAUSHAL Kendra Project was founded by the UGC in 2014 as part of its own effort to meet the increasing demand for skilled youth. Loyola College (Autonomous) Chennai is one among the few institutions in the country to be awarded the DDU KAUSHAL Kendra Project, to give need based quality education to students and mould them into a qualified and skilled workforce.

COURSES OFFERED

Ever since its inauguration, DDU KAUSHAL Kendra Project has witnessed a warm reception among students for its courses and programmes. Loyola‘s strength has always been its well structured curriculum and infrastructure meeting international standards and it’s competent staff. A combination of which will catapult the student’s performance to the highest level of intellectual development. During training, students are exposed to a wide variety of curricular and extracurricular activities to make them adapt in this dynamic world/in this fast changing world. Apart from regular classes, KAUSHAL takes pride in collaborating with respective industry experts and signing MOUs as part of its commitment to provide excellent learning. Presently all courses under DDU KAUSHAL Kendra Project are awaiting approval from the University of Madras. Some of the courses that are offered are as mentioned as follows:

INTERNSHIPS & PLACEMENTS:

As part of the programme, Students were taken for field visits; organize workshops and guest lectures by experts to get a real hand experience of the professional world. In addition to providing quality education, DDU KAUSHAL Kendra offers one of the best placement initiatives to its students, assuring employment after the program. Students are given placements after their internship and successful completion of the course.

Loyola College believes that with proper training and guidance, every student can shine and achieve their goals in life. We strive to bring the system of Vocational Education to a whole new level and in the process, reach the objectives set by the UGC.

B.VOC (3D ANIMATION)

B.VOC in 3D ANIMATION is a three year undergraduate Multimedia, Animation and Designing Course. The module helps to produce full-fledged professionals in the field of animation with the skills and confidence to build a rewarding career. During the program, students will be trained in industry-relevant modules using the latest technical education tools. Students will have the opportunity to experiment and research multimedia designing trends to deliver holistic design solutions.

ELGIBILITY:

Category-1: Students who already acquired NSQF Certification Level 4 in a particular Industry sector and opted/desires an admission in skill based courses under NSQF in DDU KAUSHAL Kendras to upgrade their educational qualification for the same trade for which he/she was previously certified at school level.

Category -2: Students who have acquired NSQF Certification Level 4 but want to change their trade/occupation and enter into skill based courses in a different trade/occupation

Category – 3: Students who have successfully passed 12th standard/HSC/10+2 (or equivalent level of examination) from any recognized Board.

Multiple Entry/Exit System

The standard B.VOC programme is a three year course where students who complete the course are awarded with a B.VOC Degree with NSQF Level 7 Assessment. But, if needed, students may exit after completing one year to get a Diploma (NSQF Level 5) or continue for two years to get Advanced Diploma (NSQF Level 6) based on their requirements.

Students can seek employment after any Level of Award and join back as and when feasible to upgrade their qualification/skill competency either to move higher in job or in the higher educational system. Despite this flexibility, Students are encouraged to complete the full three year B.VOC module to avail best opportunities in the market.

M.VOC (3D ANIMATION)

M.VOC in (3D ANIMATION) is a two year advanced postgraduate animation and multimedia course. The course, as a continuum to the B.VOC module, offers specialization studies in advanced 2D & 3D animation, modeling, graphic designing, web designing multimedia, and much more. This course will be beneficial for those who wish to make a rewarding career in multimedia and animation and to work with reputed animation studios & entertainment companies.

ELIGIBILITY

A Bachelor’s degree in relevant field or other related fields from an accredited higher learning varsity with minimum 50% marks.

B.VOC. IN DIGITAL JOURNALISM

B.VOC. in Digital Journalism is a three year undergraduate course in digital journalism and mass communication. Digital Journalism is now considered one of the fastest growing careers in the field of New Media. Loyola College is the first institution in the country to offer such course. It is mainly intended to students who are new to web-based journalism and who are interested in learning the fundamentals of research, writing, and editing web content. During this course, students will critically understand the differences between web-writing and print-writing, learn the ability to write accurately and fluently in a variety of styles applicable to new media and much more.

ELIGIBILITY:

M.VOC. in Digital Journalism

M.VOC. in Digital Journalism is a two year postgraduate course in digital journalism and mass communication offering specialization courses to students who want to make a career in the growing digital media sector. A master's degree in journalism provides students with the skills to write news stories, online media management and learn to maintain ethical standards and obligations. A thorough grounding will be provided in communication and journalism theories and mass media research. The syllabus is designed in such a way that all latest developments in the dynamic digital media sector can be easily incorporated/ accommodated in classroom teaching.
