PFERD Product Range
Our range of power tools designed for grind-ing, millgrind-ing, brushgrind-ing, polishing and cutting are in catalogue section 209. They cover all relevant RPM and output ranges and meet the latest ergonomics and safety requirements. PFERD also has an extensive range of tools to solve your application problems. There is a power tool to meet all RPM, power, construc-tion shape and size, and holder requirements of all PFERD tools.
PFERD Warranty
We will warranty any defects connected to the air and electric grinders and flexible shaft ma-chines and accessories by repairing or replacing those parts which are defective at our discretion free of charge. We grant a warranty on these defects for a maximum of 12 months. This does not apply if the statutory time limits are longer. We assume no liability for damages occurring within this time due to unprofessional handling, use of other non-approved replacement parts or maintenance in other workshops.
Productivity
Time is money.Productivity is determined by the output of the tool and the required time. The faster the grinding process, the greater the productivity. The best results are achieved with products that have a constantly high level of aggressiveness throughout the processing period. PFERD quality power tools also contribute to high productivity. They are high-performing, durable and less prone to failure.

Rotational Speed (RPM)
Rotational speed n is stated in revolutions per minute [RPM]. The required speed is deter-mined from the cutting speed V in [SFPM] or [m/s] and the diameter of the tool d x π (3.14).
Note:
The information relating to the speed of the tool refers to when the tool is under load.
RPM = V d x π
Cutting Speed V (Peripheral Speed)
Cutting speed is the speed difference between the cutting tool and the surface of the workpiece it is op-erating on. Feed rate is the relative velocity at which the cutter is advanced along the workpiece. The cutting speed V is stated in surface feet per min [SFPM] or in meters per second [m/s]. It is calculated by multiplying the speed of the drive n, in revolutions per minute [RPM] x the diameter of the tool d x π (3.14).
V = RPM x d x π

➋ Application The application must then be selected according to the type of work on the material. We make the following differentiation:General use,■■
surface grinding and
■■
edge grinding applications.
■■
The mounted point bond and the grain mix have an impact on the grinding output, tool life and aggressiveness of the tools.
For
■■general use, the emphasis is on the
balance between grinding output and tool life. In
■■surface grinding, the mounted points
are subject to lower loads. This is why the mounted point bond is comparatively soft and designed to give high stock removal. In
■■edge grinding, the mounted points must
be dimensionally stable. This is why the mounted point bond is comparably hard and designed for a long tool life.
➌ Mounted Point Hardness After determining the application (see column ➋), the hardness can be selected in the horizontal row. The recommended bond is shown with a black dot (•). The hardness grades within the bonds are arranged from “soft” to “hard”. ➍ Refer to the Catalogue Page For more information about the hardnesses, mounted point shapes, dimensions and grit sizes, the corresponding catalogue pages are stated at the bottom of the table below.

A pre-requisite for the efficient use of grinding and cut-off wheels is choosing the right wheel for the available power tool.
In our application recommendations for grinding and cut-off wheels we have taken into account the power output (watts) of the most
com-mon angle grinders in relation to the material and machining task at hand. This distinction is reflected in the following table.
