News from our student leaders—Danielle, Ruby and Drew

Haunted School—On Friday 30th October, the School Captains and SRC’s ran a ‘haunted house’ in the school library. This took weeks of preparation and was only possible with the help of Mr Corkhill. We raised money for the Grade Six ‘Fun Day’. The kids got to walk through and see some of the amazing things inside including an oobleck pool, fluffy the spider, jump-scares and lots more. This was all to celebrate Halloween and have a little bit of fun.

School Production—On Monday the 2nd of December, will be the school’s production of ‘The Wizard of Oz’.

The Grade Sixes will be putting on the performance. The Preps to Grade Fives will be doing dances throughout the show. The production will be held at the Alexandra Secondary College hall. There will be a matinee and night performance. The production will be very entertaining and full of funny jokes. Our drama teacher Kristy Nicholson has prepared this, writing the script and directing it. So, come see the ‘The Wizard of Oz’ on the 2nd of December!

Grade 6 camp—On the 23rd October, the Grade Sixes went on camp. We packed our clothes into our packs

then walked to our camp. After stopping at Sherlock's lookout, we arrived at camp. After setting up tents, we played some games while the ‘chefs’ cooked. We went to bed after a couple of stories. The next day, we walked to a place where we dropped our packs and walked to a viewpoint. The view was amazing. We then picked up our packs and walked to our bikes. We rode to the alpine resort and made lunch. After we finished lunch, we rode on challenging tracks with jumps and berms. When we got to camp, we saw a snake and quickly put on our gators. We set up our tents and were wary of the storm warnings. We made a fake campfire and told some stories. We went to bed and went to sleep with the noise of insects and the wind. The next day, we realised there was severe weather coming. The guides decided that we were going to go to Marysville to ride. We rode to a newly built track and rode some challenging tracks. We really enjoyed the bike riding and had a memorable experience together.

Have a great weekend!

Preparations are well underway for this phenomenal event, with Grade Sixes furiously learning

their lines and rehearsing all facets of their performance - from vocal characterisation, to

movement, to dance! All grades have been learning the moves for their theatrical dance item.

Each of these dances flows from the script and essentially each dance becomes a ‘story’ in its

own right, closely connected to the scene that has just played out on the stage. Stay tuned for

more details!
