Architect with postgraduate studies in Business Management Specialization for Architecture, and a Ph.D. candidate. Dean of the School of Architecture and Design at the Universidad Pontificia Bolivariana (UPB) between 2004 and 2010, and Director of Architecture Program since February 2004 to October 2009. Team member for curriculum changes by the Academic Vice, group leader in the institutional accreditation process.
Currently holds the position of Chief Of the “Plan Maestro” (Physic spaces and general services) of the Universidad Pontificia Bolivariana from June 2010 until today, taking charge of the planning, management, control, programming, maintenance and involvement of all physical spaces of the different campuses of the UPB in the city of Medellin and other institutional locations in the country (Bucaramanga, Palmira, Monteria and Bogota), programming control information system, and MANAGING physical interventions from external regulations , contracting, implementation and auditing.
With experience in design, project management and construction of single family homes and multifamily urban countryside, banks, shops, recreational buildings, parks, schools and health facilities, recycling and remodeling of buildings, interior design projects, construction of religious and educational, public spaces, landscaping, and auditing.
Peer reviewer of the Ministry of National Education of Colombia to verify quality conditions in the programs of Architecture from 2006 until today. Representative of Colombia in the Project Area Architecture Tuning Latin America, and Latin American Area Coordinator (within the ALFA Project, which runs until 2012). Member of the academic network-ENHSA-Latin America Educational Network of Heads of Schools of Architecture, for the formulation of curricula competency-based architecture. President of the Colombian Association of Faculties of Architecture-ACFA-from 2004 to 2006 and Vice President of the Association in 2009-2010. Current delegate to the Ministry of National Education of Colombia, through ICFES and the ACFA for the formulation of Tests Quality of Higher Education in the area of architecture-Saber Pro-based verification of generic skills, and responsible for the proposed reform of the 2770 resolution of 2003 by ACFA and the National Council of Architecture Professional and auxiliary-CPNAA professions, which regulates the conditions of quality of architecture programs in Colombia.
Publication of articles in national journals on the teaching of architecture competitions. Local newspaper columnist on issues related to architecture and the city.
National and international lecturer on topics related to the addition of the generic and specific programs of Architecture, coordinator of the processes of self-Architecture Program of the UPB for the accreditation of high quality international and national levels, and member of working group for institutional accreditation of high quality.
Moreover, teaching career in areas of engineering, architectural theory and technology with emphasis on management of construction projects, and coordinator of Self-accreditation processes.
