Coordinator for Quality Learning

April 21, 2015

Dear Professional:

Welcome to the Hurst-Euless-Bedford Independent School District, the best district in the Mid-Cities!

In H-E-B ISD we consider every new employee a star and we see it as both a privilege and responsibility

to help you shine brightly for your students. Our Core Message #2 states that

Quality teachers and

effective schools are essential to students' learning.

Consequently, we ask that all professionals new to

our district join us for additional days of learning - learning about your campus, your content area, and

your district.

Our professional learning will begin on Monday, August 3, 2015, at 8:00 a.m. and will conclude on

Wednesday, August 12, 2015. On your first day, you will report to the Buinger Career and Technical

Education Academy located behind the Administration Building, 1849 Central Drive, Building E,

Bedford, TX 76022, where we will welcome you with a continental breakfast and a day of learning how

H-E-B is Different by Design. A detailed schedule for New Hire Orientation trainings with specific

locations will be given to you on August 3. For your time with us, all general classroom teachers will

receive a stipend on your first paycheck. Coaches are on duty at this time and will not be eligible for the

additional stipend. Teachers in H-E-B are appraised using the Professional Development Appraisal

System (PDAS). This training is required by the state and must be taken by all teachers new to teaching,

new to Texas or any teacher not trained in the last 5 years. The PDAS training will be offered during the

New Hire Orientation week. Please contact Tammy Galloway, secretary for Quality Learning, at

[email protected]

or 817.399.2185 to register for New Hire Orientation.

Again, welcome to Hurst-Euless-Bedford ISD! I look forward to meeting you!
