Chapter 5 Glossary

TreasureStone VirtualDrive DVD Server: It is an exclusive solution allows playing CD/DVD without physical discs that integrates with virtual discs management, user authorization management, high speed storage over network and disk array.

Virtual CD/DVD: An image file created from the digital contents of a physical CD or DVD. A virtual CD runs directly on a computer’s hard drive, but must be inserted into a virtual drive created by your CD emulation software.

Administrator Console: Manage TreasureStone VirtualDrive DVD Server on the network, add Virtual CD/DVD into it, and assign different access rights to the client within the network

Online Plug-in Utility (Client): It is not necessarily installed on the computer, while it may support more Virtual file formats if installed.

CSS (Content Scramble System): It is a Digital Rights Management (DRM) scheme used on almost all commercially produced DVD-Video discs. It prevents byte-for-byte copies of an MPEG stream from being playable since such copies will not include the keys that are hidden on the lead-in area of the restricted DVD disk. Besides, it provides a reason for manufacturers to make compliant devices, since CSS scrambled disks will not play on noncompliant devices.
