THANKSGIVING FOR BAPTISM
The pastor stands at the baptismal font.
In the name of the Father, and of the † Son,
and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.
A reading from Second Corinthians: If anyone is in Christ, there is a new creation: every- thing old has passed away; see, everything has become new! (2 Corinthians 5:17)
We give you thanks, O God,
for in the beginning your Spirit moved over the waters and by your Word you created the world,
calling forth life in which you took delight.
Through the waters of the flood you delivered Noah and his family.
Through the sea you led your people Israel from slavery into freedom.
At the river your Son was baptized by John and anointed with the Holy Spirit.
By water and your Word you claim us as daughters and sons, making us heirs of your promise and servants of all.
We praise you for the gift of water that sustains life,
and above all we praise you for the gift of new life in Jesus Christ.
Shower us with your Spirit,
and renew our lives with your forgiveness, grace, and love.
To you be given honor and praise through Jesus Christ our Lord
in the unity of the Holy Spirit, now and forever. Amen.
HYMN ELW 843 Praise the One Who Breaks the Darkness The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, the love of God, and the communion of the Holy Spirit be with you all. And also with you.

PRAYERS OF INTERCESSION
Let us pray for the church, the world, and the needs of all.
A brief silence.
Gracious God, you gather congregations together through the power of your word. Grant to this congregation the gifts of wisdom and discernment in being your church in this place, a community built upon the teachings of Jesus and his service and compassion for others. Lord, in your mercy, hear our prayer.
You desire health and wholeness. Through the gifts of forgiveness and reconciliation you equip us to heal divisions and bridge differences that divide. Grant, in all circles of relationships, that we value these gifts of grace and use them for the strengthening of community and our own lives. Lord, in your mercy, hear our prayer.
Through the eyes of children, you continue to open our minds to their sheer wonder of the world around them, their inquisitive nature, and imagination. Help us to hear their earnest questions, especially those that reflect their
awe and wonder of you, and their vital place among all you have created. Lord in your mercy, hear our prayer.
Here other intercessions may be offered.
We give thanks for those who dedicate their lives to serve others in times of crisis, whose skills, training, and strength lend aid to those in need. We pray for first responders, fire and rescue, National Guard and volunteers in aftermath of hurricanes and typhoons, for their presence, labor, and hope they offer at a time of loss of property and damages beyond imagination. Lord, in your mercy, hear our prayer.
We remember those near us, family, friends, neighbors, fellow members of the congregation for whom we pray, … that, receiving the care of others, including doctors, medical staff, technicians, home health workers and other help- ing professionals, will know your abiding love for them. Lord in your mercy, hear our prayer.
Into your wide embrace, gracious God, we commend all for whom we pray, trusting in your boundless mercy through Jesus Christ, our Redeemer. Amen.
PEACE
The people may greet one another with a sign of Christ’s peace, and may say, “Peace be with you,” or similar words.

OFFERTORY PRESENTATION
OFFERING PRAYER God of life,
you give us these gifts of the earth, these resources of our life and our labor.

† The Holy Eucharist †
The Lord be with you And also with you Lift up your hearts.
We lift them to the Lord Let us give thanks to the Lord our God.
It is right to give our thanks and praise.
It is indeed right, our duty and our joy, that we should at all times and in all places...
we praise your name and join their unending hymn:
HOLY, HOLY, HOLY
THANKSGIVING AT THE TABLE In the night in which he was betrayed, our Lord Jesus took bread, and gave thanks;
broke it, and gave it to his disciples, saying:
Take and eat; this is my body, given for you.
Do this for the remembrance of me.
Again, after supper, he took the cup, gave thanks, and gave it for all to drink, saying:
This cup is the new covenant in my blood,
shed for you and for all people for the forgiveness of sin.
Do this for the remembrance of me.
LORD’S PRAYER
Gathered into one by the Holy Spirit, let us pray as Jesus taught us.
Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name, thy kingdom come, thy will be done,
on earth as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread;
and forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those
who trespass against us;
and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.
For thine is the kingdom,
and the power, and the glory, forever and ever. Amen.
INVITATION TO COMMUNION
