Starting the Conversation
Discernment is an adventure, but you need others that will help and support you along the way. That is why it is im- portant to learn as much as you can, talk to others about their experiences, and reflect on your life up to this point in prayer. We are here to help provide the resources you need to make the decision of whether or not the collar is right for you. Whether you are just checking out your op- tions, you would like to talk to someone in person, or you think you are ready, we are here to help.

Faith Matters will be starting a new program on Mon- day, September 13th at 10:00 AM and Thursday, Sep- tember 16th at 7:00 PM on “A Biblical Walk through the Mass.” We will be discovering the beauty, riches and the profound meaning of the Mass. This five ses- sion fascinating study by Edward Sri of Ascension Press will renew your faith and deepen your love for and devotion to the Holy Eucharist. Workbooks are available. Please call the office to let us know if you would like a copy of the workbook.
Desire a deeper prayer life? Join us for “Come and Pray” Saturday, September 18th from 9:00 AM – 2:00 PM (lunch will be included!) Norah Jones ( parishioner, retreat master and linguist! ) will lead our journey to a deeper experience of the Lord’s Prayer in Jesus’ own language!
Please call the parish office to register 434-237-5911 or email at [email protected].

In the history of the Church, there are less than five popes es- teemed with the title “the Great.” One of the lesser known mem- bers of this impressive group is Pope St. Gregory the Great. As a late sixth century leader, Gregory is known for his prolific writing, his radical humility, his emphasis on missions, and his dedication to almsgiving. In honor of Gregory’s feast day this week, enjoy this discussion between Dr. Gray and Dr. Sehorn.
Among many other things, Pope St. Gregory the Great is known for his incredible pastoral presence and servant leadership. In honor of this magnanimous Saint, enjoy this episode of Into the Breach! Although primarily targeted at men, this video and its emphasis on service will be fruitful to anyone who desires sanctity and self-mastery!
In this talk, Fr. Mike Schmitz shares with us the need to pick up our crosses and embrace Christ in our own suffering. He re- minds us that love often means sacrifice!
