Introduction Letter

Rotterdam, September 1, 2014

Dear exhibitors,

The 14th Congress of the International Association for Therapeutic Drug Monitoring & Clinical

Toxicology will be held from 11-15 October 2015, in Rotterdam. The congress will be hosted in

congress center “De Doelen” (http://www.dedoelen.nl/en/congressen) in the heart of Rotterdam,

just opposite the central railway station.

As during previous meetings we expect between 600 and 700 attendees from all over the

world. Our website has been launched already (http://iatdmct2015.org), and nicely shows the

ambitions we have. Our theme “All time high below sea level” refers to the high quality we aim for. Rotterdam is a city built mostly behind dikes, and some parts of Rotterdam are as much as 6 meters (20 feet) below sea level. Of course our theme with the wink of an eye also refers to the liberal approach in our country towards some drugs of abuse.

The congress cannot be held without the support of sponsors. The meeting does offer an attractive opportunity for sponsors to interact with the attendees, and present their company, products and services. In this brochure you will find information regarding the program of the meeting, regarding the congress venue and the exhibition, and regarding the possibilities to support our congress. We will ensure a good interaction between the exhibitors and the congress attendees by integrating the catering services within the exhibition area. Furthermore, all attendees will receive a passport in which they can collect stamps at each exhibitor (we will provide you with these stamps). Those who have collected at least 10 stamps will have a chance to win a free genotyping, and will be provided with a card that contains the genotype of the most relevant metabolizing genes.

We hope to see you in Rotterdam. Within the coming weeks I hope we can discuss the different options, and reach an agreement. If there are any questions, please contact me at:

+31 (10) 703 32 02 or at [email protected].

Best regards,

Prof. Dr. Teun van Gelder,

also on behalf of

Dr. Eric J.F. Franssen, chair local organizing committee

Rotterdam

In 1300, Rotterdam was little more than a small settlement near a dam built in the Rotte River. Nowadays, Rotterdam is one of the largest and most modern ports in the world, the major foreign-trade centre of the Netherlands and its second largest city, cut into two sections by the River Rhine (Dutch: Nieuwe Maas).

In 1940, during World War II, downtown Rotterdam was largely destroyed. In the wake of WWII, Rotterdam rebuilt its city centre and is presently home to over 600,000 residents who represent a staggering 174 different nationalities.

Which such an exciting diversity of ethnic cultures and many attractions there is always something to do in Rotterdam. The impressive skyline can be seen from afar, enhancing the city’s imposing appearance.

The Maas River runs through the city centre, crossed by the now-famous Erasmus Bridge which has become the symbol of Rotterdam. Countless small harbours are situated along the banks of the Maas, each with its own unique character. Further downstream the industrial port of Rotterdam appears, the largest port in Europe.

Rotterdam is known in the Netherlands and abroad as a city of great architecture, featuring many examples of innovative construction. The famous Cube Houses are certainly worth a visit, and Museum Boijmans Van Beuningen, the Wereldmuseum, the Maritime Museum and Kunsthal Rotterdam present a cultural voyage of discovery.

Rotterdam’s leading concert halls including the congress centre de Doelen offer an exceptional level of visual and auditory enjoyment and Rotterdam is the home town of the Erasmus University and Erasmus Medical Center.

Conference Venue

The 14th IATDMCT Congress will take place at the Congress Centre De Doelen.

Concert and congress centre De Doelen is the ultimate place for this conference. Set in the heart of dynamic Rotterdam this attractive and multifunctional building houses both a concert hall and a congress centre. The building’s functional architecture combines a typical 1960s style with a modern congress complex.

The 14th IATDMCT Congress will be held in the Willem Burger Complex.

The Willem Burger Complex is specially designed for (international) conferences and corporate events. It is characterised by its transparent, spacious and business-like design.

The centre has its own entrance (from the Kruisplein) as well as a central hall, an exhibition lobby, a beautifully-lit foyer with a roof garden and ten smaller meeting rooms. At its heart is the exceptional Willem Burger Zaal, seating a maximum of 700 delegates (535 without the balcony) in a fixed-rake, amphitheatre arrangement.

The congress centre is next to the Manhattan Hotel and opposite the central railway station and is easy to reach via Rotterdam Airport, Schiphol Airport; only forty minutes away, or using the high-speed rail link from Brussels, London or Paris.
