General Ad Guidelines
Development and delivery specifications
BEST PRACTICES
Ads may not employ flashing or strobing animations of any element of the design.Ads may not have transparent backgrounds and may never blend into screen content. Animation does not have a loop maximum, but total animation time for all loops combined cannot exceed 15 seconds.
Television and print advertising standards prohibit advertisers from issuing ads, infomercials, or infotisements in such a manner that the viewer or reader believes the content is news, rather than advertising. Verve's standards also follow this policy. Messaging and offers (price, terms, etc) must be clear to the consumer on its face. Misleading ads/offers will be rejected. This includes the use of hidden and/or punitive negative option pricing techniques.

Naming Conventions
In order for us to correctly traffic your ads, please follow our standard
naming convention so we can keep track of your ads and sizes.

Supplying layered files to Verve
In order to maintain the established branding of the advertiser it is
important to have editable assets, as well as designated fonts, to create
and deliver the advertisers messaging consistently on mobile devices.
Requesting the most editable versions of these assets as possible,
allows us to develop and optimize the ad with the best possible results.

Formats and specifications for mobile video
VIDEOS MUST BE MPEG-4
In-banner video should be size appropriate. Play-time for in-banner video should be limited to 15-30 seconds.
Video size and encoding
The target size for video files should be around 1MB per 30 seconds of video
Generated video files must be streaming compatible.
Some encoders do this by default, others (such as ffmpeg - http://www.ffmpeg.org/) require you to post-process the files using qt-faststart.

Codec: h.264
Width: 320px or 360px
Height: depends on each video's aspect ratio Maximum file size: 10MB

Pre-roll Video Units
Pre-roll video ads play just prior to a publisher's video clip. To launch, a user must tap the video to play, upon which the device launches the handsets native video player. The pre-roll will begin prior to the video content.
Duration: 15-30 Seconds
File Formats: .mov (preferred), .wmv Size: 640 x 480 or higher (4:3 aspect ratio) Size: 640 x 360 or higher (16:9 aspect ratio) Frame Rates: 23.97 (min) to 30 (max) Bit rate: 1200 kbps or better
Video Compression: Any native QuickTime, AVID or Media 100 including MPEG-2, H.264, Animation
Audio Codec: AAC, 128 kbps, 44kHz, Stereo Recommended file size: 100MB or less.
