Building the Right Program for You

Selective Insurance Group, Inc., is an A.M. Best-rated A+ (Superior) regional insurance company with assets of more than $3 billion. Selective has a 75+ year history of successfully serving the construction industry. Our success has been built on the philosophy of knowing our customers’ needs and providing them with a superior product at a competitive price. Selective also believes that price and product are not enough, and that excellent service to our customers is the key to building a relationship. Selective has a reputation for consistency in the market. Just like you, we intend to be in it for the long haul. We will be there for you with a full array of products and services that will fit your needs at a price that will be hard to beat.

The Types of Contractors We’re

Interested in Writing

The Selective Summit Contractor’s Plus Program is designed specifically to meet the needs of larger contractors with more significant exposures.

We’re interested in helping you write the entire account from General Liability, Automobile, and Property to Inland Marine, Umbrella Liability, and Workers’ Compensation. The General Liability, plus one Elective Coverage (Automobile, Property or Inland Marine), subject to program minimum premium, must be writ-ten by Selective in order for a contractor to qualify for the Selective Summit. As always, our underwriters will evaluate each risk on an individual basis. Our guidelines are simple. We’re looking for contractors who run financially stable, established businesses with good track records. The gross annual receipts of our target contractors do not exceed $10 million. There are no payroll limitations. The total cost of work they subcontract to independent contractors comprises less than 35% of their gross annual receipts. We are not interested in writing contractors who rent or lease equipment to others.

Program Highlights

The Selective Summit Contractor’s Plus Program is designed to provide contractors with better protection at competitive rates. This enables the successful contractor to keep insurance costs under control without sacrificing protection. It’s a CPP-based product that builds in many of the features that cost extra with other pro-grams. Additionally, our ElitePac Endorsements for Automobile and Liability and Property offer a wide range of enhanced coverages and limits specifically for con-tractors at no additional premium charge.
