Step 1: Go to the online Exemption Request Form
Login to Mocomotion
On Welcome tab, Main Menu channel, click on Self Service
(or from the Student tab, Student Starter Kit channel, click on Self Service)
Click on Student Information
Click on Exemption Menu
Click on Exemption Request
The following screen will display:

Step 2:
Choose the Exemption Type
Click on General Education for an explanation of a General Education course.
Step 3:
Choose the course for exemption
If the course for exemption is a General Education course, the Course for
Exemption information will automatically be filled in for you:
If the course for exemption is a Regular Course, you must choose the

SITUATION A
If you choose Mohawk from the drop down list, a window will display that
shows all your credit courses with a passing grade to “Select” for your exemption request.
Click Select once you find the course you want to use for the exemption.
If you need to select more than one course to be considered for the exemption, go to the next line and repeat the process.
NOTE: If you have multiple Mohawk College ID numbers, and the courses you are using for the exemption are under a different ID number, you will have to return to the screen and:
- choose “OTHERS” from the Institution dropdown list
- type in “Mohawk (under ID #00xxxxxxx)” in the Institution box - type in the Course Code and Course Name for the course
- click Add and this information will appear on the Exemption Request screen - type in the Grade.
SITUATION B
If you choose an Institution other than Mohawk, a screen similar to the one
below will appear:
An “ADD” line will be displayed, possibly followed by a list of courses to “Select”.
SITUATION B1
If there is course information filled in on a line to Select, as in the example
above, this means: that particular course taken at that institution has been
identified as a course that qualifies to be used as an exemption for the Course for Exemption.
If you have successfully passed a course from a Select line
- click on Select and this information will appear on the Exemption Request screen - type in the Grade.
If you need to select more than one course to be considered for the

If there is not a course for you to Select, or if you do not have one of the
courses listed, you will have to enter your information on the ADD line (see screen on previous page):
- type in the Course Code - type in the Course Name
- click ADD and this information will appear on the Exemption Request screen - type in the Grade.
SITUATION C
If you do not see your institution on the dropdown list, choose “OTHERS”,
and the following screen will display:
On the ADD line:
- type in the Institution name - type in the Course Code - type in the Course Name
- click ADD and this information will appear on the Exemption Request screen - type in the Grade.
Step 5:
Submit your request and print a copy
When you have finished entering your information, click on SUBMIT and the
following popup will be displayed, to let you know not to close the browser until you click OK to continue and receive an Exemption Request #:
Click OK in the popup box and wait for your exemption request information to display.
NOTE:
If you click Submit in error before you have entered all your Transferring
Institution Courses, you will have to contact the Registration Centre, Room C066, Fennell Campus either in person or by phone 905-575-2000 (or toll-free at 1-866-410-4795) to have your request Voided. You will then be able to re-apply for the exemption online.
Step 6: Take your copy and supporting documentation to the
location indicated

Following the instructions on the screen, Print the Exemption Request and bring it, along with your official transcript from the transferring institution, to a Registration Centre for confirmation of your passing grade. If you “Click for locations”, the following information will display:
Fill in the Course Code and Course Name and click ADD.
