Installing the SR 520-T1

NOTE Before proceeding, consider the location of the equipment with respect to reliable earth ground in accordance with local electrical safety standards.

Placement Tips

Storage Temperature (sea level) -40° F to 158° F (-40° C to +70° C) Operating Temperature (sea level) 32° F to 104° F (0° C to +40° C) Relative Humidity (sea level) 5 to 95% RH

You can install the SR 520-T1 on a desktop or mount it in a rack.

CAUTION Do not place anything on top of the router that weighs more than 5 pounds (2.25 kg), and do not stack routers on a desktop. Excessive distributed weight of more than 5 pounds, or pound point load of 5 pounds on top could damage the device.

(7)

Rack Mounting

NOTE With the optional rack mounting kit, Cisco part number 700-27163-01, you can install the SR 520-T1 in a rack.

STEP1 Use four Phillips head screws to attach each bracket to the SR 520-T1 as illustrated.

STEP2 Install the router on the rack by using the screws required by your rack.

Grounding the Chassis

Connect the chassis to a reliable earth ground in accordance with local electrical safety standards.

For NEC-compliant grounding, use size AWG 14 (2 mm2) or larger wire and an appropriate ring terminal.

For EN/IEC 60950-compliant grounding, use size AWG 18 (1 mm2) or larger wire and an appropriate ring terminal.
