Aims
Joseph Pulitzer captured the essence of persuasive writing:
“Put it before them briefly so they will read it, clearly
so they will appreciate it, picturesquely so they will
remember it and, above all, accurately so they will
be guided by its light.”
This course will look at how to implement these ideas.
Conveying the appropriate “mood” within an application is as important as the content, therefore this event aims to help people tailor their writing style for different donors. We will look at how to master the balance between emotional and rational arguments in proposals.
Outcomes
As a result of this course you will be able to:
➔ Use the ‘Pulitzer Checklist’ in order to produce well balanced applications
➔ adapt your writing style in order to present the same information to very different donors
➔ convey appropriate moods and emotions within complex application forms
