St. Peter the Apostle

“...to encounter the face of Jesus Christ on our heavenly journey through prayer, education, the Eucharist and discipleship”

SOLEMNITY OF CHRIST the KING | November 21, 2021

Jesus did not usher in the kind of Kingdom the Jews were expecting. In today’s Gospel, Jesus says, My kingdom is not of this world.” His state- ment was confusing to Pilate, and his message was blasphemous to the Jews. But today, as we celebrate Christ the King Sunday, we

acknowledge Jesus Christ as King of the Uni- verse. He established not a political kingdom, but a Heavenly one. His dominion is infinite, yet His focus is narrow — His focus is YOU and I! He challenges us to give Him reign over our lives, not our lands! In Jesus, we have been given a perfect, righteous, and loving King who wants to sit on the thrones of our hearts. Will you al- low it? Will you invite Jesus to reign over your life?
