It’s  not  just  part  of  coexistence

What  is  Transitional  Calendar  Workflow?

The  ability  to  schedule,  re-‐schedule,  update,  cancel

meetings  across  dissimilar  platforms  regardless  of

chairperson  and  invitee  migration  status

The  Multiplier  Effect

Significant  calendar  workflow  is  accomplished  by  CMT  for

Coexistence  and  CMT  for  Exchange  separately,  but  even

greater  calendar  workflow  is  achieved  when  CMT  for

Coexistence  and  CMT  for  Exchange  are  used  together

(31)

Designed  in  Notes:  easy  to  customize,  including  the  GUI

When  migrating  to  Office  365,  the  user  interface  is  customized

automatically  to  present  the  settings  and  options  that  are  specific

to  Office  365  migrations

Supports  a  variety  of  migration  sources  and  targets

• Migrate  from  Domino  6x,  7x,  8x,  and  9x

• Migrate  to  on-‐premises  Exchange  2013,  2010,  2007

• Migrate  to  Exchange  hosted,  cloud  and  hybrid  environments  including   Office  365

Relying  on  Users  to  Self-‐Migrate

Benefits   and  shortcomings  of  a  self-‐service  model

CMT  for Exchange  supports  server-‐run  and  user-‐run  migrations

Every  user machine  becomes  a  migration  workstation

Good:  no  need  to  build  migration  infrastructure

Bad:  inconsistent   hardware,  network  bandwidth,  OS,  application  software

Every  user  becomes  a  migration  administrator

Good:  no  need  to  allocate  resources

Bad:  inconsistent   expertise,  insufficient  authority,  greater  need  for  support

Every  user  schedules  own  migration

Good:  no  need  for  centralized  scheduling  and  coordination

Bad:  no  centralized  reporting,  progress  monitoring

Preferred  approach  – Centralized  Server  Migration

• Local  archives  can  be  consolidated  on  a  central  File  Server  or  Domino  Server   and  migrated  in  a  centralized  mode

The  Migration  Process

1. Deploy  and  Configure  Solution

Installed  on  a  central  Domino  server  as  a  single  Notes  application  and

configured  within  the  user  interface.  A  mail-‐in  database  record  is  required  to   route  reply  messages  from  user  processing  activities.

2.   Gather  User  Information

User  data  is  gathered  automatically  from  the  Domino  Directory.

3.   Distribute  Migration  Task  Email  to  Users

After  editing  the  template  emails  within  the  application,  the  administrator  can   select  user  tracking  records  and  send  the  migration  processing  task  messages.

4.  Track  and  Report  on  Conversion  Processing

Reply  messages  from  users  will  be  sent  automatically  to  the  central  tracking   queue  to  report  on  successful  archive  conversions  or  issues  encountered  during   the  process.
