Roar Samuelsen is senior researcher and have conducted research within the fields of experience and tourism industry, urban technology, urban infrastructure networks, ICT and transport infrastructure, municipal structure, regional innovation/learing and e-democracy.

Main research interests include relations between humans, place and space; the experience economy; mobility and travel; tourism and urban and local community development; social and cultural change related to urban and local community development; social construction of place, landscape, material culture and technology; and pragmatic philosophy and social theory.
