2 Mobile and Wireless Technologies Club (MWTC) at Faculty of Engineering Technology & Research (F.E.T.R.), Bardoli has organized Three Days Workshop on “Introduction to Android Application Development” during 18-20 July 2014. The workshop was aimed to provide knowledge about Android platform for mobile devices and developing various applications. Almost 52 students and 10 faculties from Computer Engineering have participated in the workshop.

The workshop started with inaugural function at 10:00 A.M. on 18th July 2014. The inaugural session begun with prayer by the college students of FETR, Bardoli. The student coordinator Ms. Sweta Rajput welcomed Mr. Manharbhai Patel (President of SVPES), Mr. Arunbhai Patel(Secretary of SVPES), Prof. Chinmay D. Desai (Vice Principal of FETR), Invited Expert Mr. Krupal Patel (Opus Technology, Surat ), Ms. Shika Choksi (Opus Techbnology, Surat), Prof. Narendra V. Jagtap (MWTC Coordinator), Prof. Dharmishtha R. Chaudhari (Faculty Coordinator), Students and faculties for the workshop.

Prof. Dharmishtha R. Chaudhari gave an introductory speech and talked on the objectives of the workshop as well as objective of MWTC Club. The Introduction of the invited expert was given by the student coordinator Mr. Nirav Mistry. Prof. Narendra V. Jagtap provided vote of thanks for all the participants and invited guests.

4 On 18th July 2014, the first session of expert talk started at 11:00. A.M by Mr. Krupal Patel. He started with introduction of Android platforms for mobile devices, and its applications. He also discussed basics of Object oriented technologies. The second session of expert talk started at 2:30 P.M. by Ms. Shikha Choksi. She explained working environment for Android as well as Android operating system and the basic understanding of Java.

The afternoon session of Hands-on started at 4:00. P.M. where the participants provided with laboratory sessions on Java – Netbeans/Eclipse Installation, Basic commands, exercises related to Java. The participants also tried various demo applications in Java provided by Ms. Shikha Choksi.

On 19th July 2014, The First session of expert talk started at 10:30 A.M. by Mr. Vintesh Patel. He gave introduction to Android and setup Eclipse studio for Android development. He also discussed basic controls and applications of Android. The afternoon session of Hands-on on basic application of Android.

On 20th July The First session of expert talk started at 10:30 A.M. by Mr. Vintesh Patel. He discussed basic UI controls and applications of Android. In the second session participants developed sample applications on Android. All the participants provided the PPT and material of Hands-on Exercise.

6 At the last day question answer session and certificate distribution function started on 4:00 PM. Feed backs regarding workshop are provided by various students. The concluding speech to motivate the student to participate in such workshop was given by Dr. Latesh Chaudhari.
