Itinerary for Java & Bali Tour - March 2016

Breakfast daily is included when in Indonesia. 09.03.16 Australia - Singapore - Jakarta, Indonesia

Brisbane passengers depart Brisbane at 9.10am on SQ 256, arriving in Singapore at 3.10pm.

Melbourne passengers depart Melbourne at 11.30am on SQ 238, arriving in Singapore at 4.10pm.

Sydney passengers depart Sydney at 12.15pm on SQ 232, arriving in Singapore at 5.25pm.

All passengers then depart Singapore at 6.40pm on SQ 966, arriving in Jakarta at 7.25pm.

Upon arrival we are met and transferred to the hotel. Jakarta is Indonesia's capital and is also the centre of government, business and industry. It is an exciting mix of modern western architecture and traditional culture.

Visit Taman Mini Indonesia Indah (Indonesian Miniature Park). The park is a synopsis of Indonesian culture, with virtually all aspects of daily life in Indonesia's provinces encapsulated in separate pavilions with the collections of Indonesian architecture, clothing, dances and traditions all depicted impeccably. It is one of the most popular tourist destinations in the city. Afterwards, pass Merdeka Square, the National Monument and the Presidential Palace, the finest in South East Asia. Jakarta - Bogor

Visit Bogor Botanical Garden, which is best known for having the most tropical plants in the world. On 111 hectares, the garden contains over 10,000 typical plants. Adjacent to the gardens is Bogor Palace, which is of early 1800's vintage and the preferred residence of many colonial Governors-General. The trip throughout the botanical garden will be arranged in small vans to see as much as possible of this massive complex.

Bogor - Bandung

Today we have a jungle safari. Sprawling over 168 hectares, this safari park is recognised as being one of the most successful breeding centres of endangered species in the world, including Sumatran and albino tigers and rhinoceroses. On the way to Bandung, we follow the winding road of Puncak and arrive at the highest point, where we have a panoramic view of a tea plantation along with the pickers. Near Bandung, we drive right up to the rim of Tangkuban Perahu and visit a volcano, where you can gaze into the bubbling mud and sculpture below. We visit the nearby Ciater Hot Springs and Thermal Spa.

Bandung - Yogyakarta

Today we take the Executive Train to Yogyakarta. The scenery from the train varies from lush, green hillsides to small villages and colourful local markets. From the train station we drive to Prambanan Hindu Temple, built between the 5th and 9th century. Yogyakarta is the main gateway to central Java and its fertile plain was the seat of the mighty Javanese Empire of Mataram. In the evening you can stroll along the famous Malioboro shopping centre.

Tonight there is an optional dinner with Ramayana Ballet Performance. Accommodation: Saphir Hotel

Yogyakarta

After breakfast, we will have a rickshaw ride, called becak, and then visit Keraton Palace, which is a splendid example of traditional Javanese architecture, and is still the focus of elaborate rituals, dance and gamelan performances. In 1755 it was the centre of Javanese culture. Visit the Borobudur Temple which was built in the 8th century and is the largest artistic expression of the principles of the Buddhist religion, combining art and architecture to produce a true 'Wonder of the World'. The temple has 504 statues of Buddha and more than 1300 carved panels depicting scenes from his life. Due to its location and history, the arts flourished in Yogyakarta and still today it offers a variety of its traditional arts. Visit Kota Gede to see beautiful hand-made silver work. Also visit Batik Industry to learn how the traditional Batik is hand-made. Accommodation: Saphir Hotel

Yogyakarta - Mojokerto - Batu

From Yogyakarta we transfer to the train station and take the Sancaka Train to Mojokerto. This is followed by approximately a 4 hour drive to Batu. On the way we can see beautiful countryside, rivers and mountains and have a stop at Lawang fruit market. This evening we have an overnight stay in Batu.

Batu - Bromo

After breakfast this morning we visit Jatim Park 2, which is located in Batu. The Park includes a museum, secret zoo and amusements for all ages. Afterwards we drive to Bromo for an overnight stay.

Bromo - Kalibaru

Today there is a very early start for those that would like to join an optional Bromo Sunrise Tour $25 (min 4 passengers). We climb up the volcano, Mount Bromo, to experience the sunrise and see the Hindu Temple and the smoke in the crater of the volcano. It is recommended that you bring warm clothing for this early morning activity as the temperature in this area can be very cold.

Afterwards the entire group drives to Kalibaru, The Garden of Eve, with coffee, tobacco and rubber plantations which we can visit.

Today we can walk through villages or plantations, before our drive to the ferry to cross the sea and arrive in Gilimanuk, Bali. Then transfer to Tuban for a 2 night stay. Accommodation: Patra Bali Resort

This morning you are transferred to Denpasar International Airport for your flight to Singapore. Depart Denpasar at 1.00pm on Singapore Airlines flight SQ 943, arriving in Singapore at 3.35pm. Upon arrival in Singapore you are transferred to your hotel for a two night stay. The remainder of the day is at leisure. While in Singapore you will receive all the benefits listed below:

This morning you are transferred to the airport for your flight home.

Brisbane passengers depart Singapore at 9.35am on SQ 245, arriving in Brisbane at 7.35pm.

Sydney passengers depart Singapore at 9.40am on SQ 211, arriving in Sydney at 8.35pm.

Melbourne passengers depart Singapore at 10.45am on SQ 217, arriving in Melbourne at 9.15pm

Conditions for Macleay Valley Travel's Java & Bali Tour

Deposits and Payments - A non-refundable deposit of $200 per person is payable within 7 days of booking. This deposit is not refundable should you later cancel. The balance is payable in full 8 weeks prior to departure. Refunds and Cancellations - Cancellations after final payment will result in a refund limited to whatever we can recoup from the airline.

Insurance - Adequate travel insurance is essential. We can arrange this for you if desired. Macleay Valley Travel offers Suresave Travel Insurance. Please note that we can only process your travel insurance when we have received full payment for the insurance and the signed Suresave Travel Insurance application form, located on the last page of the Suresave Travel Insurance information booklet. Until this time the travel insurance cannot be processed and will not be valid. Macleay Valley Travel will bare no responsibility for any consequences that may occur as a result of an incomplete insurance application.

Passports - All travellers require a current passport with at least 6 months left on it at the end of the tour. Non-Australian passport holders require a re-entry visa for Australia. Non-Australian passport holders require a visa for Indonesia, which is obtained upon arrival at Jakarta Airport. The cost of the visa is US $35 per person. Bali also has a departure tax which costs 200,000 Indonesian Rupiah per person (equivalent to approximately $20 AUD). Please note that these prices are subject to change.

Taxes and Levies -Air taxes and fuel levies are included in the basic tour price if the tour is paid in full on or before the due date on the final invoice. Macleay Valley Travel reserves the right to charge for any increase in air taxes and fuel levies if the tour is not paid in full by the due date.

Not Included in the Cost - All items of a personal nature such as travel insurance, telephone calls, drinks, excess baggage, tips, meals, (except those specified in the itinerary), etc.

Similarly, credit card payments can only be accepted if 2% is added to the price to help defray the heavy merchant fees charged to us by the credit card companies. There is a 3% surcharge for Diners Club.

Breakaway Fee - All fully inclusive prices are based on group travel and any deviation from the set itinerary will incur a breakaway fee. The breakaway fee for most deviations including a post-tour extension on this tour is $55 per person. Please inquire with our office for prices on any pre-tour extensions.

Health and Fitness - Macleay Valley Travel recommends that the passenger is reasonably healthy and/or fit to participate in this tour. Persons with a disability requiring special assistance must be accompanied by a companion. Macleay Valley Travel and their representatives cannot provide this service. Macleay Valley Travel reserves the right to accept/decline or terminate a passenger's participation in the tour under certain circumstances. Macleay Valley Travel is legally not permitted to provide medical advice as to vaccinations/injections which you may require for this tour and advise you to consult your local medical practitioner for specific medical advice. There are no compulsory injections required for this tour.

Booking through other Agents - As we keep the cost of our tours as low as possible, there is insufficient margin for us to be able to pay commission to other travel agents, so some bookings can only be accepted if the client pays the other agent's commission.

Accreditation - Macleay Valley Travel is a fully accredited travel agency under the AFTA (Australian Federation of Travel Agents) ATAS - AFTA Travel Accreditation Scheme. As such, you are assured of a consumer focused and quality assured business, ensuring professional conduct and ethical business practices. We are happy for any prospective traveller with us to check us out with your local Consumer Affairs (Fair Trading) department. Limitation of Liability - As Macleay Valley Travel acts only as agent for the Airlines, Hotels, Coach Companies etc, providing accommodation, transportation and other services, Macleay Valley Travel shall not be liable or responsible for death or injury to any person or loss or damage to any property including baggage arising out of or connection with any transportation, accommodation or other services, or resulting directly or indirectly from acts of God, fire, breakdown in machinery or equipment, acts of Government or other authorities, de jure or defacto wars, whether declared or not, hostilities, civil disturbances, strikes, riots, thefts, epidemics, quarantines, medical or customs regulations, delays or cancellations caused by changes in schedules or itinerary, or over bookings or defaults or for any causes beyond Macleay Valley Travel's control or any loss or damage resulting from improper or insufficient passports, visas or other documents and neither Macleay Valley Travel, and its servants or

employees shall be or become liable or responsible for any additional expenses or liability sustained or incurred by the tour member as a result of the foregoing causes.

Macleay Valley Travel reserves the right to modify the itinerary or the accommodation if circumstances make this necessary, provided that the amended itinerary is of equal value or greater value than that of the original program.
