Q - Why don’t we sing the Gloria and Alleluia during Lent?
A - Lent is a penitential time during which we prepare for Easter with prayer, fasting, and almsgiving. The Gloria Is an exalted hymn, which adds a “celebratory character” to the Introductory Rites of the Mass. Likewise, the joyfulness of the Alleluia doesn’t fit with the penitential season of Lent. The Gloria and the Alleluia triumphantly return on Holy Thursday (Gloria) and at the Easter Vigil (Alleluia).

Dear Sisters and Brothers in Christ, My name is Steven DiIorio. I put together a 5 Volume Book Set compiled of selected sections from One Hundred different writings of the Saints that dive deep into their thoughts, advice, reflections and teachings, leading the reader to deepen their
relationship with our Lord and grow deeper in their Faith! In these books, the Saints reflect on it all! From our Blessed Mother to
Confession, from the Eucharist to Prayer (special reflections on the Rosary!) and so much more! The sale of this book set goes to help grow the company I’m starting, which creates resources and products that are relevant to all Catholics, especially Middle School, High School and Young Adult Catholics, helping them grow deeper in their Faith, while also helping to promote vocations in each Diocese! So, the price has been reduced all the way down to $39.95 for the entire 5 volume set to sell as many as possible!
I look forward to seeing you all the 14th and 15th of March! If you can please keep me in your prayers, I would greatly appreciate it and please know that you are also in mine! God Bless you all!
