Dear Sacred Heart family,

Have you ever felt like no matter how many people who you had near you, the only one who would comfort and understand you would be your mother? We are so lucky to have this comfort in our Blessed Virgin Mary, the mother of Jesus and mother to us all.

The month of October each year is dedicated to the Most Holy Rosary. This is primarily due to the fact that the liturgical feast of Our Lady of the Rosary is celebrated annually on October 7.

It was instituted to honor the Blessed Virgin Mary in gratitude for the protection that she gives the Church in answer to the praying of the Rosary by the faithful.

Here at SHCS, we teach the children to look to Mary for her example of faith and love as the mother of Jesus and to be our mother, too; calling on her to guide us as our earthly mothers would. The Rosary offers a simple way to meditate on the life of Jesus as we pray. The students enjoy this time when we recite the Rosary together or when they get a chance to meditate alone. The Blessed Virgin Mary is present with each of us in our prayers and meditations. A SHCS Living Rosary will be held on Wednesday, October 27, at 12:30pm in the Church parking lot.

I would like to thank ALL parents, students and staff for your time and support that you gave at the Czech Festival. Sacred Heart Catholic School donated 175 2 liter bottles for the Czech Fest game booths. Fr. Emmanuel visited the school to accept the donation from the students. The teachers and students also worked the Snow Cone and Cotton Candy booth. The school’s presence was truly noticed

by many in the Parish.

Blessings,

Ms. Susan Harris, M.Ed.
