When you encounter Jesus in the Word, through prayer or in your daily activities, do you “leap for joy”?
John the Baptist, the infant in Elizabeth’s womb, is a child who moves under the vision and impulse that is felt in the encounter with the Mother of Grace. This impulse is called conversion. John’s leap of joy in the womb represents the change that is possible in our lives when we encounter Jesus and are freed from our

WHAT ARE YOU BRINGING TO THE MANGER?
In this season of gift giving, we know that nothing can equal the greatest gift of all – the gift of Jesus!
Just as the Magi brought gifts to the Manger of the Child, we invite you to bring your gifts of gratitude to the manger as well. Throughout Advent you have the opportunity to express your gratitude and bring your

These gifts of prayers and thanksgiving will remain in our baptistery throughout Christmastide.

with gifts for those in need. I have looked at the gifts and seen things that will make the hearts of children sing, elderly people know they are not forgotten, and remind teens of their value to others. I thank you for that! Of course many of us also give to scholarship funds which help change the lives of children, both here and around the world. We are truly working to make God’s Kingdom on earth visible to all as we live the mission of the parish—to make Jesus Christ known and loved.
My Christmas wish for all of you is that this year you will know the love and peace that the Christ child brings. Something to think about.

I am always impressed by how willing the people in this parish are to be helpful and generous. That very spirit showed brightly on the Day of Mercy.
