“An office in the cloud” – The Telekom
case Study
one of the very first successful public cloud business models in europe was and still is the SaaS offering “IT Software Service” by Deutsche Telekom, the world´s third largest telecommunication service provider.
The goal was to offer more than two million target customers not just a Telekom broadband connection, but also software “from the cloud“ to provide them with the support they needed in their day-to-day business activities.
“We discussed our planned IT services portfolio with ASg (visionapp at that time) because the company had strong expertise in the SaaS segment,“ recalls oliver Kepka, Senior commercial Manager SaaS at Telekom. “The focus for our offering was on communication software (Microsoft exchange in all its variants), teamwork tools (Microsoft® Sharepoint), Microsoft office, as well as productivity software for crM and erP. Web conferencing services had been added to the portfolio later in the project.”
Since the official launch in 2008, thousands of VSe and SMB users work with applications and services of the Telekom SaaS service every day.
What did ASG deliver?
