This guide assumes that you have successfully installed CountryComplete Free from the Salesforce.com AppExchange, a link to the listing can be found on page 2. Before completing this section please review Security & Permissions.

For more information on how to install AppExchange Apps, please see

https://na1.salesforce.com/help/doc/en/salesforce_appexchange_install_guide.pdf .

1. Once installed, select the ProvenWorks Data Tools application from the drop down menu.

2. From the ProvenWorks Data Tools application, locate the CountryComplete Administration Tab, then choose your required language and execute the Install Defaults action. This will install default validation settings, and import the ISO3166 country list in the language you chose.

CountryComplete can provide an AutoComplete menu for the standard Lead, Contact, Account and Contract country fields in your Salesforce Org without requiring any customizations of your existing forms. This is provided using a Custom Homepage Sidebar Component which must be active for every user for whom you would like to provide the AutoComplete menu.

For additional object support see ProvenWorks AddressTools on the AppExchange: http://bit.ly/O8tEeO

The AutoComplete functionality is added by placing the CountryComplete component onto each home page layout.

1. Navigate to the Salesforce Setup page by selecting Setup next to your name.

2. On the left menu within Build expand Customize -> Home -> Home Page Layouts

3. Click edit on the relevant home page layout

Select “Setup”

1

Select “Home Page Layouts”

2

Click “Edit”

4. Check the CountryComplete check box within the list of available narrow components and click Next. (Check the AddressComplete check box if you plan to use the optional street level address validation tool).

5. CountryComplete will now show in the Narrow (Left) Column.

6. Finally, click on Save.

If you have multiple Home Page Layouts assigned to different users, you have to modify each layout to provide CountryComplete to that group of users, by repeating steps 3-6 above.

CountryComplete has now been added to the home page layout, however we now need to ensure this is included on every page within your Salesforce Org.

Check the box & click on “Next”

“CountryComplete” will appear in the

Left Column

In addition to providing an interactive auto-complete menu for countries, CountryComplete can also validate the values entered into the Country fields via other processes. Ensuring that all country values are correct and no anomalous values are allowed. Additionally the list of countries shown can be edited to only show countries your organization does business in and reduce the likelihood of users selecting for example North Korea instead of South Korea.

1. Click on ProvenWorks Data Tools application to access the CountryComplete Administration tab. Next, click on settings.

2. To modify the country list that is shown locate the Displayed Countries and Hidden Countries lists within the Settings tab. Simply add or remove countries which you would like to use and ensure to click Save All after.

Select “Settings” tab

3

Select “ProvenWorks Data Tools” application

1

Select “CountryComplete Administration” tab

2

Simply add or remove countries which you would like to use and ensure to click “Save All” after.

(8)

 To add or remove more than one country at a time use the CTRL key.

 To add or remove a group of countries located together with the list, use the SHIFT key and select the first and last country within the group.

3. Within the settings tab locate the Standardization and Validation Settings section. When Validation and Standardization Enabled is checked then any country values entered in to the country fields listed in the Fields to Validate section (page 9) must match one of the displayed countries (shown in step 2). This input value can be:

2-letter ISO code (example: US) 3-letter ISO code (example: USA) Full ISO name (example: United States)

4. Only standardize and validate when Country is changed, determines under what circumstances the validation and standardization will occur. If the option is enabled then countries will only be validated and standardized if a change has been made to that specific country field.

For example if the option is enabled and the user changes the name of an account and that account currently has an invalid Billing Country value then no error will be generated.

(9)

CountryComplete allows you to configure specifically which fields are validated, and how, for correct country values.

Use the Fields to Validate section to add, edit or remove which fields should be checked. Ensure you press Save All after modifying which fields are to be validated.

a. Country Mandatory enforces that the field must always contain a value or an error will be generated. b. Selecting Only Listed Countries limits field entries to displayed countries or a 2 or 3 letter ISO code. c. If Standardize is checked and a user enters a value into a validated field that matches a country’s

2-letter code or 3-2-letter code then it will automatically be substituted with the full name for that country. For example an entered value of US would become United States.

AddressTools also corrects misspellings and automatically completes the country from the inputted state value.

It is very important that you consider all sources of data for the fields that you validate as invalid country names will prevent records from being inserted and updated. Where necessary, test in a sandbox before deploying to a production environment.

With the default validation settings the country names in new Lead objects will be checked. This is acceptable if you only enter leads inside the Salesforce CRM interface, as the user will be notified of any validation errors on creating new items which they can immediately correct. However, if you have leads coming from other sources such as web-to-lead forms, validation failures will prevent the leads from being saved.

For input sources not ISO3166 compliant AddressTools can be used to map non-compliant values to compliant ones.

(10)

CountryComplete offers the ability to edit existing country properties and to add new countries. Visit the Countries tab within ProvenWorks Data Tools to see a list of the installed countries.

Selecting the New Country button will display a form enabling you to add an additional country to the list.

Select “Edit” next to any country to modify its properties.

(11)

QuickComplete is a feature of CountryComplete that allows users to input their most used country with one click. The chosen country can be different for each user and thus is set on the user page. QuickComplete can also be used to populate a country value from services that don’t always pass in a country.

Select the “Installation” section in the “CountryComplete

Administration” tab.

Locate the QuickComplete section and select the country that you wish to use from the

drop down list. Click “Install” to populate for all users.

If the field is not present on the user page, go to Build-> Customize -> Users -> Page Layouts -> Edit and simply add it to the user’s layout by drag and drop.

Finally, navigate to the Settings tab to enable QuickComplete Country for your Org. Click and drag the

QuickComplete Country field down into the page

layout.

Within the “Settings” tab ensure the “Enable QuickComplete” Country is

checked.

(13)

Once the QuickComplete Country has been configured for a user, a link will appear underneath the Country field in the address blocks.

On any address form in Salesforce CRM your QuickComplete country

will show.

If the “Country” field is left blank, the specified QuickComplete Country will be populated on save.

(14)

For organizations with specific security requirements or with custom profiles, this section outlines the minimum required permissions.

During the installation process, selecting Grant access to all users all is easiest. If this is not possible, granting access to admins only will prevent access to the CountryComplete tabs for your users, including CountryDetection, but the core functionality of auto complete standardization and field validation will still be available.

The CountryComplete sidebar, which provides the autocomplete and pick list features, functions by referencing our Javascript page. Go to Setup>Build>Develop>Pages, and click the security link next to CountriesJavaScript to verify that all profiles that require functionality have access to the page.

Each profile will also need access to our Apex Classes, which is not allowed for all profiles if you choose admin only. You can check access from each Profile page.

(15)

Check each profile has access to all our Apex classes if you chose

(16)

If you have any problems with installation or configuration please get in touch with us via email at [email protected]. We are actively trying to make CountryComplete a better product so if you have any suggestions for new features you would like us to develop, please email our support department.
