2. Refer to application process below for a list of the supporting documents needed (i.e., reference forms, evidence of GPA, etc.) Incomplete applications will not be considered.

PURPOSE:

The purpose of AAMA’s Tomorrow’s Leaders Scholarship Fund is to provide financial assistance to individuals enrolled in undergraduate study in community colleges, trade schools and universities. The Tomorrow’s Leaders Scholarship Fund principally targets two and four year academic programs; however, certificate/licensing programs are also eligible.

FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE

is based on financial need, academic performance and leadership potential.

SCHOLARSHIP AWARDS

For the 2014 – 2015 school year AAMA will award at least two scholarships of up to $2,000.00 each on the basis of a comprehensive process. Areas that are reviewed by the committee include, but are not limited to the following: Academic Accomplishments, Community Service, Recommendations, Personal Essay and Financial Need.

Tomorrow’s Leaders pays scholarship funds directly to the recipient’s school. The annual Scholarship awards are split into two equal parts and are disbursed on a semester basis; they may be continued for the following semester if the student maintains a 2.0 GPA for the preceding semester. The Tomorrow’s Leaders Scholarships are awarded without regard to race, color, ethnicity, gender or sexual orientation. Scholarships awarded are based upon the availability of funds and additional qualifying criteria. Tomorrow’s Leaders Scholarship Fund programs include volunteer hours to AAMA yearly. Scholarships are awarded and/ or renewed annually provided funds are available and student maintains a 2.0 commutative GPA.

CRITERIA

 Applicants must have attended Sanchez Charter School, Houston, Texas.

 Applicants must be completing or have completed high school successfully with a minimum unweighted GPA of at least 2.0.

 Applicants must be accepted as a student at a college, university, or trade school program for the upcoming summer or fall 2014 academic semester.

 Applicants must demonstrate a need for financial assistance.

Recipient is expected to fulfill 2 volunteer days at AAMA yearly.

 Student must apply for student aid by completing the 2014 - 2015 Federal Application for Federal Student Aid ("FAFSA") or the Texas Application for State Financial Aid ("TAFSA").

Scholarship disbursements will be made for the spring 2015 semester only after their grades from the fall 2014 semester have been received by the scholarship committee.

TIMELINE

 Both new and renewal applications are due June 16, 2014.

Applicants are notified if awarded a scholarship by June 26, 2014.
