• It provides for enquiries about the patient, the patient’s location, admission, and appointment scheduling and discharge details. Furthermore, this system even takes care of package deals for a patient for a fixed

cost. Medical Record keeps an abstract of clinical data about patients. It allows easy retrieval of medical

records on patients.

The Registration module is an integrated patient management system, which

captures complete and relevant patient information. The system automates the patient administration functions to have better and efficient patient care process.

Appointment scheduling deals with scheduling of physician appointments for the patients. The user can view the schedule for a particular doctor, the appointments scheduled for the doctor, the free slots available, blocked slots. Based on the slot availability, the appointment can be fixed. The appointment

can be rescheduled and Cancelled based on the scenario. The hospital can track and manage Scheduled Visits, Emergency Visits, and Visit cancellations.

The user can view all patient’s previous visitations to the hospital and also No- show patients list. Telephonic appointments for unregistered patients can also be scheduled.

In-patient Admission Discharge Transfer module is a part of patient management system and takes care of admission process of a patient. It captures the diagnostic tests, medicines and procedures prescribed by the doctors and nurses. These orders are then processed by their respective departments. This module manages the allocation of a bed/ward/room to a patient according to its availability and also the transfer of patients. This application guides the appropriate discharge process of a patient and generates a comprehensive discharge summary at the end.

The Outpatient module serves as an entry point to schedule an appointment with the Hospital

Resident Doctor or Consultant Doctor for Medical Consultations and diagnosis. This module

supports doctors to take better and timely consultation decisions by providing instant access to

comprehensive patient information. Patient visits are divided into New, Follow-up and Review.

This module also handles requests and results of laboratory tests and other examinations.

External Doctors visit to in patients can be managed by this module. Some patients may avail only the hospital facilities like Lab, Radiology, and so on.

The doctor’s workbench is the gateway for doctors to the hospital management system software. It provides for a single point access to current and future appointments, past history, reminders, latest laboratory/radiology test results for both outpatients and inpatients

The dietary module in the hospital management system software is designed to assist the hospital kitchen in providing meals to inpatients as per the instructions of the dietician. The module facilitates the dietician to prescribe a diet as instructed by the physician to any given patient. The module also allows the maintenance of meal scheduling, customizing meals as per patient meals and recording of individual meal orders.

• This module is used by the pathology lab to record and disseminate the information regarding the tests performed.

• The Laboratory department receives online request from doctors and also allows laboratory personnel to generate requests.

• The Laboratory module supports to perform various tests under the following disciplines: Biochemistry, Cytology, Hematology,

Microbiology, Serology, Neurology and Radiology.

• Tests are grouped under various sections and sample type (specimen). Based on the request the user can input the sample and generate the sample number and get a sample number printed.

• Results can be entered based on the sample type either to one test or multiple tests. If the test result requires approval, the supervisor has to approve the result and it is made available to concerned doctors.

• There are 2000 and odd investigation items fed in to the database. These investigations have built in parameter driven and format driven report generations.

• If any requisition has due amount to be paid, the reports cannot be printed until the amount is cleared.

• All the equipment in the lab can be scheduled for patients.

• Facility to store details of operation notes during surgery such as

vital signs, BP, pulse, IV fluids, R.R., drugs, etc. are also maintained

in the system. This information is available at any time following surgery. The entry of complications, events, etc. are specifically added as Special Notes on Surgery.

• Case sheet provides all the information regarding an inpatient.

• It has 18 tabs which are used to store from the amounts paid at the time of admission to dischargesummary

• The service module provides for effectively managing all the services available in the hospital and the charges for each of these services are securely entered and handled.

hours used. Allocation planning for certain equipment is

done on the system for specific surgeries or procedures.

This eliminates confusion in the transferring of

equipment from one location to another.

The Theatre Booking module facilitates the booking of a

theatre for surgery on OPD/IPD patients. The system enables

theatre scheduling, ascertaining the consultant’s OPD

schedule and the availability of equipment necessary for

surgery.

Eye

• Registration of eye patients and quick

registration of the patients is common to all modules and available here also.

• Eye module is designed basically for the

patients who schedule surgeries and get discharged without being admitted as inpatients.

• Eye surgery costs depend on the lens used in

the surgery. For this reason package creation facility is made to define various packages with different lenses.

• Based on the selection of the package by the client, that lens will be used in the surgery.

• Based on the operation theater bookings for the surgery, lenses requirements can be estimated and if short of stock, indents can be raised.

• In case the lens of the booked package is not available in stock, lens of higher value will be used in the surgery.

• This variance is obtained in the form of lens variance report. This helps the management to understand how effective the procurement

Dialysis

• The Dialysis module is an equipment scheduler to reduce waiting time of patients and to request anappointment ahead of time.

• Dialysis patients need dialysis at regular intervals. The frequency is decided by the doctor. But the dialysis machines in the hospital have to be properly scheduled so that no machine is idle at any time and no patient should face problems without a dialysis.

• This effective management is made available in the form of dialysis machine scheduler. This helps in viewing the available slots, booked slots, advance booking.

• Patients can book dialysis, postpone based on

availability with the help of this scheduler. Booking are advised based on the interval given by the doctor

and number of dialysis advised. Patients can also

adjust the dates based on their requirement.

The TPA and Insurance Management module facilitates the process of settlement of the bills of a patient insured or covered by a third party. It records the details of third party payers and insurance companies. It helps to verify the eligibility of the patient for reimbursement by the third party or the insurance company. This module helps the hospital file online claims on behalf of the patient in a prescribed format along with the discharge summary and various bills of the services provided to the patient. It also helps to track the status of the claims and

provides a provision for follow up to these TPA
