COPENHAGEN INTRO…
…Cool, Cultural, Ecological and Cosmopolitan
Vibrant trendy and full of a warm and welcoming
atmosphere, cosmopolitan Copenhagen has become an ever
popular destination.
The city centre of Copenhagen is one of the most beautiful quarters of Copenhagen with its
impressive palaces, churches, castles, narrow streets and exquisite small townhouses. Not to
mention Strøget - the longest pedestrianised shopping street in Northern Europe.
The area of Vesterbro is another exciting quarter and has been promoted
the most trendy and creative area in Copenhagen. Here cafés and fashion
shops literally have set up all over the place creating one of the hippest
places in the city – not just to live in, but to shop, eat, drink and have a
great night out.
Surely you have heard about Nyhavn - the oldest part of the Copenhagen
Harbour. It is a popular meeting place, and perfect for enjoying a drink in
one of the many open air cafes, restaurants and bars. As soon as the sun is
out in early spring, the Danes move the chairs and tables outside and from
the first summer day the quay is crowded with people who can enjoy the
view of the moored wooden sailing boats.
The water is present everywhere in Copenhagen, and another great place to enjoy the beautiful
canals and charming ambient is the quaint quarter of Christianshavn, where you will also find
Christiania – the free town built on the dreams of a life of freedom and the notion of a town run by
the residents themselves. With ICS´s assistance, you will be sure not to miss the many exciting and
varied possibilities: Activities, restaurants & cafés, venues and shops on offer here!

Day 1
Meet and greet at the Airport and transfer to Toldboden in Ribboats
Ribboat to Toldboden
Wind turbines are the future of energy and a visit to them provides an exciting and magnificent sensation.
Only a few people have the imagination to imagine how an offshore wind turbine looks from close range. We are located directly below the turbines and sense their colossal dimensions. The tour starts with visits of the 48 giant wind turbines installed on Lillegrund south of the Øresund Bridge. It’s an incredible experience to be surrounded by rotating 10 tons of wings.
Lunch at Toldboden
Toldboden is a house with a large room ideal for middle sized events, kept in a neutral and aesthetic form, with white walls and a floor made of concrete, that have been chosen to transform the room to focus on the 42 meter panorama to the waterfront.
The view provides inspiration and brings simultaneously a special tranquillity with them, providing space for
contemplation. The water also enriches Toldboden with a very special light that created the sea and sky in a great collaboration - a scene that changes colour depending on time and weather.
The house can be divided into compartments 36 to 800 square feet. These can be arranged with chairs and tables in all shapes and set in a circle, horseshoe, a row or haphazard depending on the purpose, taste and imagination.

Rickshaw to Grilleriet and cooking dinner in Grilleriet
Cooking course on a grill
Going through Copenhagen by Rickshaw will make you feel that you are one of the locals; most Danes use the bike as transportation when they move around the city. In a rickshaw you will get the opportunity feel the atmosphere and the life around Copenhagen while seeing the major sights of the city.
Grilleriet is just the right pace for a person who appreciates high quality food and wine. The atmosphere is there, the aroma in the air makes it simply impossible not to feel welcome and in a good mood. After a nice welcome drink the group will be divided into smaller groups and then let the competition begin.
Who makes the best plate?
We guarantee an unforgettable evening and promise new ideas for your cooking at home. Professional cooks will be ready to give you a hand and the challenge will be big.
Have a great evening
*This service can be provided directly from Hotel Royal or Skt Petri.

Danish Design tour with a foodies twist and dinner at Oliver and the Black Circus
For years Danish designers lived in the shadows of such modern masters as Arne Jacobsen and Hans J. Wegner. Today this has radically changed, and the design scene is again flourishing. On our tour we will show the best of classic and contemporary Danish design, from teapots and chairs to hotels and supermarkets.
Sofas, chairs, teapots and door handles - Design plays a big role in Danish culture and in Copenhagen you will see the design shops and be told the story behind the many Danish design successes.
Right now Danish Design is going through an exciting period and the city is boosting with interesting design from the old functionalistic masters like Arne Jacobsen and Hans J. Wegner till young innovators like Henrik Vibskov and Hay Cph.
If you do not choose the Royal Hotel the tour will start showing the world’s first design hotel made by the functionalistic “starchitect” and designer Arne Jacobsen, who among other artefacts created the famous “Egg” chair for the lobby. Further we will move on, showing among other things bicycle design, the classic and poetic paper lamps of Le Klint as well as the ironic and eclectic universe of fashion designer Henrik Vibskov, a man who among other things has dressed an airplane in a knitted sweater! Along the way the group will also have the opportunity of learning more about the New Nordic Cuisine and its secret success. Tastings during this journey can also be offered, after the group´s preferences. This tour can be done by bus, bicycle, rickshaw or foot.

Thousands of colorful lights illuminate the enchanting garden and create a magical atmosphere around the Tivoli Lake. An activity called 5Games (consisting in bringing the kid inside of you back to life) can be set for the group to enjoy the magical spirit and atmosphere of this breath-taking site.

The menu is bistro-style and the décor follows the style at Nimb with its simple Scandinavian flair and detailed English and French style. The name has its own history: when the Nimb Family first opened a restaurant in Tivoli in 1877 it was in Divan 2. The place was often referred to as Nimb´s Porch or Nimb´s Terrasse. In August 2011 Nimb Terrasse received a 5 star review from the food critics in Denmark, a must-do for food lovers!
