PROJECT NARRATIVE
THIS PROJECT INCLUDES REPAIRING THE SOUTH ENTRANCE WALKWAY TO MEET ADA REQUIREMENTS AT THE SOUTH ENTRANCE OF THE CITY AND COUNTY BUILDING, 1437 BANNOCK ST. THE EXISTING WALKWAY FROM BACK OF SIDEWALK TO THE EXPANSION JOINT AT THE BUILDING FAÇADE WILL BE DEMOLISHED AND REPAIRED. THERE WILL BE A LEVEL LANDING JUST OUTSIDE THE ENTRY ACCOMMODATING EXISTING ADA PUSH
BUTTON. FROM THE SOUTH EDGE OF THAT LANDING A SLOPED WALKWAY WILL EXTEND TO MEET THE BACK OF EXISTING SIDEWALK AT A SLOPE OF LESS THAN 5%. PER CODE AND ADA, NO HANDRAILS ARE REQUIRED OR PROVIDED.

1. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL BE SOLELY AND COMPLETELY RESPONSIBLE FOR CONDITIONS AT AND ADJACENT TO THE JOB SITE, INCLUDING SAFETY OF ALL PERSONS AND PROPERTY
DURING PERFORMANCE OF THE WORK. THIS REQUIREMENT SHALL APPLY CONTINUOUSLY AND NOT BE LIMITED TO NORMAL WORKING HOURS.
2. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL PERFORM ALL WORK NECESSARY TO COMPLETE THE WORK SHOWN ON THE PLANS OR DESCRIBED IN THE SPECIFICATIONS IN A SATISFACTORY MANNER. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL FURNISH ALL MATERIALS, EQUIPMENT, TOOLS, LABOR, AND INCIDENTALS TO COMPLETE THE WORK.
3. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL OBTAIN ALL NECESSARY PERMITS AT THEIR EXPENSE TO COMPLETE ALL GRADING, UTILITY WORK AND INSTALLATION OF EROSION CONTROL MEASURES.
4. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL COORDINATE WORK WITH ALL ADJACENT PROJECTS.
5. DURING CONSTRUCTION IT SHALL BE THE RESPONSIBILITY OF THE CONTRACTOR T0 PROTECT EXISTING UTILITY LINES SHOWN ON THESE PLANS AND THOSE UTILITY LINES WHICH MAY NOT BE SHOWN ON THESE PLANS.
6. EXISTING SITE INFORMATION SHOWN ON THESE DRAWINGS IS BASED UPON AVAILABLE SURVEY BY SEH, INC. DATED AUGUST 28, 2020. S.A. MIRO, INC. MAKES NO WARRANTIES OR
CERTIFICATION OF THE COMPLETENESS OR ACCURACY OF THE EXISTING CONDITIONS
PRESENTED. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL INSPECT THE SITE TO ASSESS EXISTING CONDITIONS, AND SATISFY THEMSELVES THAT THE DOCUMENTS ACCURATELY REPRESENT THE SITE CONDITIONS PRIOR TO CONSTRUCTION. ANY DISCREPANCIES FOUND DURING INITIAL
INSPECTIONS, OR SUBSEQUENTLY, SHALL BE REPORTED TO THE ENGINEER IMMEDIATELY FOR RESOLUTION RELATIVE TO THE INTENDED CONSTRUCTION.
7. THE EXISTING UTILITIES SHOWN ON THESE PLANS HAVE BEEN LOCATED USING FIELD SURVEY DATA LOCATING MANHOLES, WATER VALVES, ELECTRICAL EQUIPMENT, AND OTHER FEATURES FOUND AT THE SURFACE. NO SUBSURFACE EXPLORATION HAS BEEN DONE TO VERIFY EXACT LOCATION OF EXISTING UTILITIES. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL POTHOLE EXISTING UTILITIES PRIOR TO CONSTRUCTION AND NOTIFY THE ENGINEER OF ANY POTENTIAL CONFLICT PRIOR TO CONSTRUCTION.
8. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL BEAR THE FULL COST OF REMOVAL, REPLACEMENT AND DELAY RELATED TO UNVERIFIED EXISTING CONDITIONS. WHERE THE CONTRACTOR FINDS CONFLICTS OR DISCREPANCIES, THEY SHALL BE REPORTED IMMEDIATELY TO THE ENGINEER.
9. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL NOTIFY APPROPRIATE ENTITIES FOR UTILITY LOCATES AND START OF CONSTRUCTION PRIOR TO ANY WORK BEING STARTED.
10. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL NOTIFY AND COORDINATE WITH ALL AFFECTED PARTIES PRIOR TO ANY OUTAGES OR SHUTDOWN OF SERVICE.

13. THE DRAWINGS SHALL NOT BE REPRODUCED FOR SUBMITTALS. DRAWINGS OR PORTIONS THEREOF USED FOR SUBMITTALS WILL BE REJECTED AND RETURNED TO THE
CONTRACTOR WITHOUT APPROVAL.
14. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL PROVIDE AND COORDINATE ALL BLOCK-OUTS, SLEEVES, INSERTS, BOLTS, PLATES, ETC. FOR ALL TRADES PRIOR TO PLACING CONCRETE OR MASONRY.
15. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL BE SOLELY RESPONSIBLE FOR MEANS, METHODS AND SEQUENCES OF CONSTRUCTION.
16. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL BE SOLELY RESPONSIBLE FOR THE SAFETY OF ALL CONSTRUCTION PERSONNEL AND AUTHORIZED VISITORS.
17. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL BECOME FAMILIAR WITH AND COMPLY WITH OWNER'S PROCEDURES FOR MAINTAINING A SECURE SITE AND BUILDING.
18. EACH INSTALLER SHALL EXAMINE THE SUBSTRATE CONDITION AND/OR SITE CONDITIONS WHICH AFFECT THE QUALITY OF EACH PRODUCT TO BE INSTALLED. IF ANY CONDITIONS EXIST WHICH WILL HAVE A DETRIMENTAL EFFECT ON THE QUALITY OF THE INSTALLATION, THE INSTALLER SHALL IMMEDIATELY ADVISE THE CONTRACTOR FOR CORRECTION.

DEMOLITION NOTES

9. EXCEPT WHERE NOTED OTHERWISE, REMOVE DEMOLISHED MATERIALS FROM THE SITE.THE CONTRACTOR SHALL REMOVE AND PROPERLY DISPOSE OF ALL CONSTRUCTION AND DEMOLITION DEBRIS. 11. CONTRACTOR SHALL OBTAIN APPROVAL OF OWNER FOR DETAILS RELATED TO ALL SITE ACCESS AND REMOVAL PLANS.
DEMOLITION DEFINITIONS
"REMOVE"
1. EXTRACT THE ITEM FROM ITS POSITION. DISPOSE OF THE ITEM AS DIRECTED IN COMPLIANCE WITH THE AUTHORITY HAVING JURISDICTION.
a) PROMPTLY REMOVE DEBRIS RESULTING FROM REMOVAL OPERATIONS. DO NOT LET DEBRIS ACCUMULATE ON THE SITE.
b) DISCONNECT ITEMS WHICH ARE PART OF AN EXISTING SYSTEM FROM THE SYSTEM AND PERMANENTLY PLUG OR CAP THE RESULTING OPENINGS. DO NOT DISCONNECT SECURITY SYSTEM WITHOUT 30 DAYS NOTICE AND WRITTEN APPROVAL OF THE OWNER.
