This is a simple way to support our community. You may volunteer as your schedule permits and you do not have to be a member of the Altar and Rosary Society to offer your assistance. The time commitment may vary, most often 1 to 3 hours at a time, on an as needed basis. For more information or if you are ready to have your name and number added to the call list, please contact Berta Egan at 303 776-2743 or Lee Cline at 303 651-0682.

Thanks to St. John the Baptist Knights of Columbus Council 14898, St. John the Baptist Boy Scout Troop 65, St. John the Baptist Exodus 90, and many family members who also helped by handing out bags and then collecting them at the 9 Cares Colorado Shares food drive. Also, thanks to the folks who came in on Monday morning at the food bank to put the food away.

It was a success!

of the multiplication of the loaves this Sunday? Here we see the mystery of our physical and spiritual realities intermingling. Too often, they can feel separate. When we go to Mass, how often we appear more ordinarily human rather than stretching toward the divine.

Perhaps our experience of the Eucharist is fairly mundane.

We notice when a new sacramental wine has been selected. We feel the varying textures of the host and wonder if they’ll ever bring back the one that tasted 1*$,*+/,37& 3*;#& )%#.,4& <$& )#& $%0!'#& 02& ,(& ,%#& !"(+,& .+1&

stride back to our pew, we notice the looks on people’s faces and the clothes on their backs. We get distracted by the crying child, the man blowing his nose, and the mechanical sound of the air conditioner kicking in. How human we are, how earth-bound, how material!

And how good God is for entering into these selfsame realities. How good God is for proclaiming “the kingdom (!&=(1>9&!("&5%#.3*+?&,%($#&)%(&+##1#1&,(&@#&/0"#1>9&!("&

having mercy on a tired and hungry crowd. How many of the crowd noticed what had been done for them? Did they realize their dinner was a miracle? How often do we miss the deeper reality of the Eucharist? Even if in the moment of receiving Communion we don’t experience radical ecstasy and don’t feel any different, there is a tangible reality to cling to. Our God loves us enough to become bread for us, not only to feed us but to be fed upon by us.

How can we ever succeed at truly loving God and our neighbor and fully embrace Gospel living? Achieving this goal without an intimate connection with Christ is impossible. The Eucharist, the Body and Blood of Christ, connects us with God in a unique and most intimate way.

His very life and presence is wedded with ours. Being forgiven and nourished, we are given the strength and conviction to pick up our wounded and broken lives and be living heralds of Good News. Our world is broken and needs authentic, living witnesses to bring it back to truth.

Nourished by the Body and Blood of Christ, are you ready to be sent?

Out of respect for the perpetual adoration and prayer in the chapel, please do not use the south door as an entrance or exit to the cry room.

We have found that the sound from people using the south door as a pass-through (either going to or coming from the cry-room) is causing distraction to those in prayer in the chapel.

Please use the north chapel entrance to enter or exit to help maintain the quiet and peace of our adoration chapel.

Thank you for your kind consideration!
