Dear Parents, Carers and Families

CURRICULUM DAY – NO SCHOOL Friday the 26 November

There will be no school for children on this day as teachers will be reflecting on our Annual Improvement Plan and writing end of year reports to be presented to parents later in the term.

YEAR 6 GRADUATION

Exciting news! Graduation ceremonies are permitted for students from the graduating year level. The year 6 teachers are in the process of organising a graduation ceremony. We will adhere to the COVID safe practice of physical distancing, mask wearing and good hand hygiene. Unfortunately, parents and carers will not attend but we intend to broadcast the graduation ceremony for families and staff to view. Selected students from the year 6 classes who demonstrate our values will receive $100 Meadow Heights Primary School Council scholarship awards that will be forwarded to their secondary school to support their education. There will also be a $100 Joy Burness Award for a nominated year 6 student.

REMEMBRANCE DAY 11/11/2021

Thursday the 11th of November is of Remembrance Day. At 11am on the 11th of November 1918 the guns of the Western front fell silent after more than 4 years of continuous warfare. On Thursday, we observed one minute’s silence at 11am, in memory of those who died or suffered in all wars and armed conflicts.

Warm regards

Mrs Margaret Leach School Principal

With higher UV levels from September onwards it is important to use a combination of sun-protection measures to minimise the risk of skin and eye damage and skin cancer.

Between 1 SEPTEMBER TO 30 APRIL when outdoors at MHPS, it is COMPULSORY that staff and students wear appropriate clothing that covers as much skin as possible and a legionnaire cap to protect the head, face, neck and ears. Staff and students should also apply SPF 30+ broad spectrum sunscreen, use shade whenever possible

and if practical, sunglasses should also be worn.

Students without appropriate hats must sit in the shade in the main courtyard during their breaks, NO HAT!

NO PLAY! NO SUN!

MHPS appreciates your support in our efforts to encourage your child about the importance of being SunSmart.

MHPS legionnaire caps can be purchased at the school office for $6.
