The Application of Block Chain Technology in Digital Copyright

Abstract. With the development of Internet technology, new publishing forms such as electronic reading and mobile publishing have been recognized and accepted by users. Users no longer merely the knowledge content of the readers, but also the content of the producers and publishers, the formats of the publication industry in nature has changed, the digital publishing industry get rapid development, followed by piracy. Block chain technology can effectively solve the infringement problem in digital copyright protection due to its distributed data storage structure, non-tamperability of content and easy to track and trace. Based on the analysis of block chain technology, the basic structure of block chain applied to digital copyright protection is studied, and the advantage of block chain technology in digital copyright protection is summarized.

Introduction

Into the 21st century, the Internet into the era of web, the user is no longer just the knowledge content of the readers, content producers and publishers, the formats of the publication industry in nature has changed, the traditional publishing pattern also produced change, electronic reading and mobile publishing and other emerging publishing form quickly recognized by users and accept, greatly promote the development of the digital publishing industry[1].

At present, many users publish their works via live broadcast platforms, such as self-created songs, hand-painted pictures and so on. Such rapid development has brought about copyright protection. On the one hand, due to the digital copyright in domestic development and use of late, many websites for free download by the works, advertising in the middle of the page to gain an advantage, make piracy, and as a publisher of web users copyright consciousness is relatively weak, most people tend to not value or ignore the protection of intellectual property rights[2].

Block chain technology USES hash encryption the data in the form of block linked together, to ensure the content is tampered with and piracy tracking verification, can effectively solve the problem of infringement of digital copyright protection, to build a good network environment, improve the mechanism of the copyright protection, simplify the cumbersome process of safeguarding rights has the extremely significant significance.

The Basic Structure of Block Chain in Copyright Protection

Block chain consists of the head and the block body, its structure is shown in Table 1(refer with Fig.1), the block header contains a hash value, timestamps, merkel roots, goal difficulty, Nonce (i.e., random number), the version number and other information, record the block body block trading information.[5]

In block header, block chain using the hash algorithm to encrypt, and every block of needs based on a block of the hash values calculated for the hash value of itself, thus constitutes the chain structure of chain block.[6] Whenever a new block is generated, the block will record the time generated, that is, the timestamp. Ms merkel's roots are a kind of hashing binary tree, which represents the roots of the merkel tree in which all transactions are made in the block, and the values on the nodes are usually the hash values of the block. The difficulty of the target determines the number of hashing operations needed to produce a legal block to adjust the rate of the new block. Random number is block chain in order to achieve the workload that the consensus of the mechanism and to add, in order to make a time period agreed on the sequence of things of a kind of algorithm, and its operation principle is shown in figure 2(refer with Fig.2). Assume that content for the random number 56582, converted to hexadecimal is dd06, namely only when beginning to dd06 hash values are valid hash value, other computed hash value chain though the content is also blocks, but the content is invalid, to satisfy the random number, needs 1001 calculations to achieve effective hash value.2.2 More format.

Copyright Application Module. Users can through the platform for his creation of music, images, articles, such as applying for copyright, after the success of the application will be in new blocks, block chain block will record the work of the application time and work content, the content of the work by SHA256 algorithm into a cryptographic hash value.

Browser Module. The Block Chain technology USES P2P networks (P2P networks) in the network layer. [7]There are no special nodes in peer-to-peer network, all nodes on the function is the same, can provide all services needed for the entire network, each node in the foreign service, also use other nodes for their services, it is because of this, peer-to-peer networks don't depend on any particular system of the third party to complete their own operation, also does not have the so-called hub, thus ensuring freedom, equality, transparent and efficient flow of data, users can browse through the digital copyright protection platform has been registered copyright music, pictures, paper work.

Trading Module. In trading in the module can use smart contract based on the block chain technology, copyright owners and buyers in making a smart deal, the contract through the P2P network spread and deposited in the block chain, when meet the conditions of the contract, contract will automatically perform, the function of the copyright in order to complete the transaction right to the use and transfer of copyright.

Advantages of Block Chain Technology Using in Copyright Protection

The Content Cannot Be Tampered with, the Information Is Safe and Reliable

In the process of digital copyright protection, it is very important to ensure the authenticity and validity of the original works.[8] Block chain technology by using SHA256 algorithm in the hash algorithm to encrypt user uploaded works, the content of the work into hexadecimal hash value, at the same time in the process of communication using asymmetric encryption technology, guarantee the way any link been tampered with, the results are very different, which greatly enhanced the security of digital copyright protection, improve the credibility of the content of the work.

Distributed Data Storage to Solve the Trust Problem of Third Party

In traditional digital rights management mode, the copyright protection work is mainly to copyright content stored in the database of central type, the advantages of this approach is that the need for retrieval can be relatively simple and quick. [10]However, because the central database is easy to hack into and tamper with the information, once it is breached, it will cause an inestimable loss. At the same time, the center of the type of database protection of copyright content is not transparent, it is difficult to solve the problem of the trust of the third party, once regulators appeared problem, it is difficult to safeguard the rights and interests of copyright owners, so in case of infringement, the database can provide evidence of the effect is very weak. Block chain technology by using P2P networks peer-to-peer management pattern makes data storage, all nodes are the same on the function, can provide all services needed for the entire network, the user can easily check the copyright content, make transparent copyright content, copyright users' personal information will not leak at the same time, can effectively solve the problem of third party's trust.[11]

Summary

Block chain technology in the 21st century, the Internet technology is continuous innovation, continuous improvement, it effectively removes the influence of the third party platform, realizes the center system data transmission without relying on a third party. [12]At present, the application of Block Chain is starting a new wave, and many people are pouring into it. Block chain applications has just started, however, is not mature enough, the need for more research institutions and researchers to join the block chain innovation applied research, expanding chain can application field and improve the block chain that exist in the technology. The research on the application of digital copyright protection based on Block Chain is of great potential value, which is of great significance to improve the current situation of digital copyright protection. Copyright management organizations should also actively cooperate with relevant policies to support the efforts and development of Block Chain in the field of digital copyright protection.
