T

his is a fitting Sunday to bring this to your attention. We are planning on

re-turning Adoration to perpetual status by early August. To do this will require

hundreds of phone calls to reach out to former adorers to see if they are ready to

come back for adoration. In the meantime, beginning Tuesday, July 6

th

, we will

move our current partial adoration back into the Adoration Chapel in the former

convent building. This will allow the church at Ss. Peter and Paul to have some of

the weekday masses offered there once again. We already know that we will need

a couple of dozen new adorers to replace those who are no longer able to for a

variety of reasons. Please consider stepping forward to take an hour a week of

Eucharistic Adoration. You will be glad you did! I plan to resume my former holy

hour on Saturday evening if it will be available.

W

e have a wonderful opportunity for outreach, to serve the poor and needy,

coming up soon at Ss. Peter and Paul. The Sodality of St. John will be

pack-ing dried food for the poor in Haiti on Wednesday, June 16

th

, at 6:30PM. It will

be a two-hour event to package for shipment of desperately needed food for that

impoverished country. Please consider joining in. Those who have done so before

when we have hosted it, enjoyed it and felt uplifted by doing so. Information on

how to sign up is in this bulletin.

T

he new priest who will be our weekend helper, replacing Fr. Bruno, will be Fr.

Nels Gjengdahl. He will begin next weekend, June 12 & 13, at Ss. Peter &

Paul. We will ask him to include a little biography on himself in next weekend’s

bulletin.

the remaining Eucharist, placed in the

tabernacle after communion at each

mass. This feast of the Body and Blood

of Christ is a time of focus on the gift

we have of Jesus in the Eucharist.

In the Middle Ages, to celebrate the

gift of Jesus in the Eucharist, they would

often take Him out into the streets for

grand processions for all to see and

join in with. Next year, we can

hopefully be prepared once again to

do that here as well. Let us praise our

God who is so intimately present with us

in the Most Blessed Sacrament, the

Body and Blood of Jesus Christ.

OTUS TUUS / VBS:

Totus Tuus “Totally Yours” is a summer Catholic youth program dedicated to sharing the Gospel and promoting the Catholic faith through evangelization, catechesis, Christian witness and Eucharistic worship. The methodology structure, content and enthusiasm of Totus Tuus is concerned not only with teaching the faith, but also igniting the hearts of the team members and young people who participate. The result has been the formation of young adults who continue to dedicate themselves to the Church’s mission of evangelization.

from Funding

Abortion

The Hyde Amendment and similar laws have protected taxpayers from funding elective abortion for 45 years. Now, powerful members of Congress want to take away these laws that both Democrats and Republicans have supported for nearly half a century. Billions of taxpayer dollars could be used to pay for abortion. It is critically important for Catholics to send a strong message before Congress moves forward to impose taxpayer-funded abortion. Prayer for Vocations

Gracious God, we thank you for all your goodness to us, especially for the life, death and resurrection of Jesus. We ask that you grant your Church new workers to spread the Good News

of salvation among us and every corner of the world. May we generously support those you have called to serve as lay ministers,

sisters, priests, brothers and deacons. May they reap a new harvest of love in our world by loving and serving in your name.

Amen.

Bethany House is a place, set apart, with an environment of support and encouragement for Catholic women as they intentionally discern consecrated life. The women live in community, pray together, have meals together, host Religious Sisters and participate in a discernment book study during the program.
