Basic Steps for
Remote Desktop Protocol
Basic RDP Setup for a school hosted at USOE.
Setting up an RDP connection – Remote Desktop Protocol
When a school begins using ASPIRE SOFTWARE for the first time, there are a number of steps that must be completed to get the school up and running. The RDP connection is only one part of the setup. The RDP connects you to the FoxPro Client Aspire Software.
Establishing Remote Access to Terminal Services at USOE
Remote Access
Your SIS Support Specialist will send an RDP link for logging in to the client (FoxPro Client) from your PC. FoxPro client does not run on a Macintosh computer.
If you have a Mac computer, in order to login to Terminal Services, you have two options: • Have a Windows PC available for using FoxPro client.
• Install Windows on your Mac computer.
Your school customized RDP will be sent to you via e-mail.
Your specialist will give your school login and password over the phone.
The FoxPro Client is only used for part of the Aspire software. More applications have been moved to the web. Eventually all applications will be moved to the web.
Be sure and add all faculty members with their own individual logins and passwords in the Faculty Module by selecting System Module > Faculty Module.
On the FoxPro Client, the software that users will work with includes: • Faculty members • Building Scheduling • Scheduling Students • Student fees
Food Service has been moved to the web. It is still available in FoxPro client only for
accessing historical data. If you don’t have historical data, you will never need to go into the Food Service Module.
Printing
To Print from FoxPro Client, users will need to install UniPrint Software.
Uniprint is the tool you use to print reports while logged in to Terminal Services (RDP).
*Instructions for Installing UniPrint Client for Terminal Server Printing
• Go to http://www.uniprint.net/download.aspx
• Choose: Downloads • Choose: UniPrint Clients
• Choose: > UniPrint Client for Windows << Choose Download: MSI / CAB
Browse to the location you want to save the file (Preferably Local Disk C: or where you have access) and Save:
After you finish Saving - Select: Open

Select:
Let it finish installing
After installing UNIPrint software, Now launch the new RDP. When logging into your new RDP, it should look like this:
If your RDP doesn’t look like this, please contact your IT Department at your school:
Do not select Remember my credentials at any point during the setup. Always type in your username and password for security.
Your RDP Login screen should look like this –your login is: DCSDELL\( schoolname) –sis Password: ???????
Select: O.K. , if the correct information is showing.
If your charter name does not follow the DCSDELL\ - select ‘Use another account’
Type in: DCSDELL\ (Yourschoolname-sis) And then your password
Make sure you have your caps lock key off
If you try more than three times without success, your account will be locked. At this point, contact your SIS Specialist or wait 20 minutes and it will be unlocked then.
After logging into FoxPro Client ASPIRE: At the bottom of your monitor, you should see the UniPrint Icon in your task bar:
When the icon shows up on the task bar: This is letting you know the UniPrint Client has been installed.
Look at Previewing – Section: If you want to always preview your document before printing – select Preview with UniPrint and select Save at the top. Or if you don’t want to Preview, leave it on No Preview. Leave the setting defaults as they are.
Use the same Username and password you have always used to access ASPIRE- Remember, logging in to the RDP is a different Username and password than logging into SIS FoxPro Aspire.
