Installing and viewing your eBooks

o install and view your eBook, please see the instructions below:

VitalSource eBooks

For Windows PC and Apple Mac OS X Desktops

If you are a new user:

• Download and install the free VitalSource Bookshelf reader from this link, on your Windows PC or Mac.

• Open the Vitalsource Bookshelf application, and click on the Register For An Account link to create a new account.

To add a book you have just purchased to your Bookshelf:

• Open the VitalSource Bookshelf application.

• Click on ‘Account’ in the menu and select ‘redeem code’. Copy and paste the redemption code from your e-mail receipt or the order confirmation page into the application.

• The book downloads automatically and becomes available to read within a few minutes.

For iPad/iPhone/iPod Touch devices

To access your new book on iPad/iPhone/iPod Touch devices:

• Go to Apple App Store on your device, and search for “VitalSource Bookshelf”.

• Download the free VitalSource Bookshelf app.

• The book downloads automatically and becomes available to read within a few minutes, depending on the speed of your internet connection.

ePub/PDF eBooks

For Windows PC and Apple Mac OS X Desktops

If you are a new user:

• Download and install the Adobe Digital Editions reader from Here.

• You will be guided through create an account on the Adobe website, and can then log-in to account in Adobe Digital Editions reader. Create an account before downloading any files, otherwise the files will be lost and cannot be replaced.

To add a book you have just purchased to Adobe Digital Editions:

• Click on the link in your e-mail receipt or the order confirmation page. You might get this warning. Click on 'Download File…'

• Open the file using the Adobe Digital Editions software you have already installed.

• The full book downloads automatically and becomes available to read within a few minutes.

For iPad/iPhone/iPod Touch/Android devices

If you are a new user:

• Make sure you have installed Adobe Digital Editions to your desktop PC or Mac as above. Create an account before downloading any files, files will otherwise be lost and cannot be replaced! And downloaded the book you would like to use.

• Go to Apple App Store or Android Marketplace on your device, and search for “Bluefire”.

• Download and install the free Bluefire reader app to your device.

• When you first run Bluefire on your device, it will ask you to authorize it with your Adobe Digital Editions account that you created above .

• Find the downloaded ePub file on your desktop PC (usually in the “My Digital Editions” folder inside “My Documents” or “Documents” folder) or Mac (usually in the “Digital Editions” folder inside your “Documents” folder).

• Then you need to transfer the file to your device, using one of the methods below:

Using E-mail:

• E-mail the ePub file to the account that your email is set-up for on your device and open the email on your device.

• Tap and hold on ePub file in Mail (or other e-mail program) on your device, and choose “Bluefire” in the pop-up that appears.

• You can also click on the link in the e-mail on the device. Safari will open the download of the file and ask in which app you would like you open the file. Select BlueFire.

Alternatively, you can install and use the free Dropbox app to transfer the file:

• Install Dropbox on your PC/Mac from www.dropbox.com and create an account.

• Install Dropbox on your mobile device from the iTunes App Store or Android Marketplace.

• Copy the ePub into your Dropbox folder on your PC/Mac.

• Tap and hold on ePub file in Dropbox on your device, and choose “Bluefire” in the pop-up that appears.

If you are using an iPad/iPhone/iPod, you can also transfer the file in iTunes:

• Connect your device and opening iTunes on your PC or Mac.

• Select the device in the left iTunes panel.

• Click on the apps button in the main iTunes window.

• In the “File Sharing” section of the page under files, go to the “Documents” list and click on “Add”, then select the ePub file.

For B&N Nook/Sony/Kobo E-readers And Other Readers Supporting Adobe Digital Editions

If you are a new user:

• Make sure your E-reader supports Adobe DRM. If It doesn’t support Adobe DRM you will not be able to open the eBook.

• Make sure you have installed Adobe Digital Editions to your desktop PC or Mac as above, and downloaded the book you would like to use.

• Connect the e-reader to your PC or Mac, using the cable supplied by the e-reader vendor.

• Open the Adobe Digital Editions software on your PC/Mac, and your e-reader should be recognized.

• You will then be asked to authorize your e-reader with your Adobe ID.

• Your e-reader will then appear as a bookshelf in your Adobe Digital Editions library.

To add a book you have just purchased to your e-reader device:

• Connect the e-reader to your PC or Mac, using the cable supplied by the e-reader vendor.

Drag books to your e-reader bookshelf in Adobe Digital Editions on your PC/Mac, and they will be copied to your device for offline reading.
