A Message from our Pelekikena

Aloha HCCH Members,

Hope all is well so far during 2021. We are now in March and time keeps flying by. Did all of our kūpuna receive their COVID Vaccine? If not, please let us know so that we can provide some kōkua with information. It is very important to help our kūpuna in getting their vaccinations as soon as possible.

During March 2021 we normally celebrate the birthday of Prince Kūhiō with month-long activities and religious services. Due to the pandemic the annual Prince Kūhiō Parade and Hoʻolaulea has been cancelled. Aliʻi Sunday at Kawaiahaʻo has limited in-person attendance by reservation only on March 21, 2021. This information has just been announced by Kahu.

HCCH is responsible for Mauna ʻAla services this year, and previous

past-president, Manu Boyd will host a very small invitation-only "Makana Service" at the Mauna 'Ala Crypt . E kala mai, we cannot all be there to attend, but we do

encourage you to see information that is shared in this issue which includes ways to attend virtual conversations hosted by CNHA all month long in honor of Prince Kūhiō. Hopefully, next year we will be able to encourage more participation in the 2022 Prince Kūhiō Celebration and Festivities that will be planned.

CNHA is hosting (4) four virtual activities planned this month. The very first
