S T E P - B Y - S T E P I N S T R U C T I O N S

This Life Casting Kit Includes:

n HandGel™ 570 Alginate n LiquiStone™ (large bag) n LiquiStone™ (small bag) n Thermometer

n Mixing Stick n Plastic Container n Large Trash Bag n Instructions

n Safety Data Sheets

You will also need:

n Water at 70°F/21°C n Mixing Buckets n Measuring Cup n Dust Mask* n Cordless Drill n Turbine Mixer n Plastic Knife n Large Mixing Stick

n Super Glue® (cyanoacrylate)

Please read these instructions carefully before beginning.

With this kit you can make an individual mold and casting of one adult sized foot - up to Men’s Size 12M(US)/11.5(UK)/46(EU).

*Note: It is recommended to wear a dust mask when working with any powdered material.

Dispense a small amount of LiquiStone™ into a container.

Mix a tiny amount of water to create a thick paste.

A small amount of LiquiStone™ is applied to the area to be fixed.

Use your finger to smooth and wipe away any excess material.

Surface imperfections can be quickly repaired using LiquiStone™.

Repaired area cures in 3 hours.

Use the small pack of LiquiStone™ to repair any defects in your casting.

Place plastic bag on floor to create a working area.

Position a chair on the working area for the model to sit on.

Have model sit in chair and roll up pant leg. Remove sock and shoe.

Insert a pillow or cushion beneath the upper thigh for comfort and support.

Place container beneath the model’s foot to test placement.

Foot position should maintain 1/2” (1.27cm) clearance from all sides.

After pouring, gently tap the side of the bucket to help settle the LiquiStone™.

Allow LiquiStone™ to set for 3 hours at room temperature (73°F/23°C).

After cure, invert the container and remove from the mold.

Use a plastic knife to carefully score the alginate mold on all sides.

Carefully remove small chunks of alginate to reveal the casting.

Allow casting to air dry for 2 hours before handling.

Attach a turbine mixer to a variable speed drill.

Check that the temperature of the water is at 70°F/21°C using the thermometer.

Measure 5 quarts (4.7L) of water and pour into a large mixing bucket.

Wear a dusk mask and transfer both bags of HandGel™ 570 alginate into a seperate container.

Wearing a dust mask, carefully sift the alginate powder into the water as you drill mix. Mix for two minutes.

After drill mixing, use a mixing stick to scrape the sides and bottom of the bucket and stir thoruoghly.

Allow the LiquiStone™ to soak in the water for 3 minutes before mixing.

After 3 minutes of soaking, drill mix the LiquiStone™ and water.

After drill mixing, use a mixing stick to scrape the sides and bottom of the mixing bucket. Stir thoroughly.

Pour a small amount of LiquiStone™ into the mold cavity.

Rotate the mold in all directions for about 10 seconds to help minimize air entrapment in the finished casting.

Tilt the mold and continue pouring until almost full. Lay the mold down on the table to complete the pour.

Pour mixed alginate into the container.

Slowly immerse foot into the alginate until foot is completely covered.

Raise foot out of alginate momentarily to reduce air bubbles, then resubmerge the foot into the alginate.

Hold the pose steady until the alginate sets to a firm gel.

Use a plastic knife to carefully cut the alginate along the top of the foot about an inch from the ankle.

Make a similar cut along the back of the foot about an inch from the heel.

Wiggle the toes and foot to release from the mold. Lift heal up first to exit the mold.

Use Super Glue® (cyanoacrylate) to seal up the incision along the top of the mold.

Use Super Glue® to seal the incision along the back as well.

Mold is now ready for casting. Cast into the mold within 1 hour.

Measure 21 oz (0.62 L) of water and pour into a mixing bucket.

Slowly sift the entire bag of LiquiStone™ into the water.

Pour mixed alginate into the container.

Slowly immerse foot into the alginate until foot is completely covered.
