We object to the new proposed LDC21-00065 (Military 8) residential subdivision because it will cause a huge amount of traffic on Military Drive. There are already many shipping trucks as well as resident owned vehicles that travel on that road.
If you go ahead and approve, it is essential that you install a light at Tulear Street with a left turn lane and signal to improve safety on Military Drive. The light needs to be installed before construction begins on the new
development. You must also install sidewalks along Military for the safety of all residents who are walking or biking.
Thank you,
Charlotte and Chet Curtis

I would like to express concern over these 2 proposed developments. To begin, traffic on Military Road has become dangerous and impacted, especially under adverse weather conditions. Between the abundance of housing
developments already being built, numerous warehouses, and diverted traffic due to issues with Swan Lake. Adding another 325 homes in this area could make travel on these roads more dangerous and make getting in and out of developments virtually impossible. Infrastructure on Military Road must be fixed prior to adding any further development.
Additionally, the Military 8 project is not clear. Will these be condos, duplexes, or houses? How will this impact the Stonefield development as road services (Devere Dr.) will be shared and this proposed development will be pushed up against an existing development in a very confined space. What is the developer’s idea/plan for this “cluster
development”? What impact will more development have on the already impacted Swan Lake area? Before proceeding any farther with additional building in this area, it is vital that infrastructure be fixed to alleviate traffic issues in the valley and on military road and clarification as to these developments plans. Please consider postponing these developments until more information and infrastructure can be put in place.

Your Comment As my home back directly to this planned development I am opposed to to having anything other than single family homes boarder my property. This is a concern for multiple reasons. I do not want cars parking just feet from where my child plays in our back yard. I also do not want the view that I chose to be disrupted by a multi story, multi family building. The traffic that has increased with the approved building just north on Military road without any improvements to military has become a hazard for current residents. A Multi family would only complicate this problem even more as the density of traffic would be greater than single family dwellings. I have spent a substantial amount of money on making my back yard a place I want to be and this would be taken from me if multi family units are built adjacent to my property. Once again I state I am for single family homes being built adjacent to current phones on Corso St. and fully opposed to multi family homes being built adjacent to the current homes on Corso St.

I live in the Stonfield development next to the propsed building site. I have several concerns about the proposed development.
1) We are already a high density area. This amount of new development on a small parcel will increase traffic. In addition, our subdivision will become the overflow parking for the new development as parking lots reach maximum capacity. Case in point, the new apartments on Militatry and Lemmon are already past capacity for cars and vehicles are parking in the entrance to their facitlity and often on the dirt (meant to be drainage) in front of the complex. Any new dwellings on this parcel would not be a part of OUR HOA and our neighborhood is already crowded. People wouldn't care about following our rules.
2) Where are the inhabitants going to drive in and out of? Again, will it be through our subdivision? An increase in 100-150 vehicles for this proposed development would greatly affect the traffic in and out of the subdivision.
3) We live in a congested area. What infrastucture will this development add? Our schools are already overcrowded and traffic is awful during high commute times, sometimes taking 5minutes+ to get out of the subdivision.
4) I notcied that the yellow notice sign was posted in front of the hill. That hill is common use land and should not be touched as part of this develpoment. It was also used as a reason to approve the warehouses next to it. What about noise from that?
